It's great to see the Capalaba straight track given Tab meeting's,a real shot in arm for not only QLD greyhound racing, but for everyone that might have dog's who can only get 400m who now have another option along side Healsville, who want to give their dog's a straight track career, who know's,maybe both club's could get together & put on a series culminating in a race that would un-cover Australia's straight track champion annually? Maybe they could rotate where the final is held from year to year?Just a thought.Any thoughts or opinions?

Murray Bridge in SA will have another straight track in action soon. Could havr a tri state series or something. Would be interesting to watch.

Jason,
Not really valid. The history is that Capa always wanted to race on Saturday because it attracted horse punters and a bookie. Neither are now there.
However, I agree they were all a bit slow to react to the change.
Healesville was the same until the change to Sunday and then also Friday. Wyong and Appin were similar (offcourse betting) but office politics then got involved in a musical chairs game. Border Park ran a popular Sat meeting due to a highly popular offcourse punting facility until GRNSW emasculated it by reducing dates (for unknown reasons). Beaumont Park got the boot for TAB reasons plus a Broadmeadow auditorium licence.(GRA/GRNSW were useless).
