Considering bringing two dogs over from Australia to the 2019 Irish Derby. I have raced in the Derby before when living in Ireland but have always wanted to bring a competitive greyhound from Australia for it and after fighting cancer and starting to win the battle I am considering bringing two of my handy dogs over to Ireland for this years Derby flying the Aussie flag. After battling cancer and now winning my fight when only 18 months ago I was given 3 months to live but I proved doctors wrong and now my dream to race a Australian dog in the Irish Derby does not seem like a daft idea. Plus it will be good to see some of my good old Irish mates for a pint of Guinness. Just would like to ask the quarantine regulations etc and who now would be the best person to speak with these days at the IGB. I did get a email that they would pass on my info but have not heard anything as yet so wondering maybe who would be best to go direct too.
God Bless
Trevor

This is the best post I have read on data for a very long time. Most post are full of doom and gloom... im sure when the Data team read this they will leave no stone unturned to find out who u would need to contact... Sorry ive no answers but get in touch with TEAM DATA.... I wish u all the best firstly on a full recovery with ur battle against cancer and secondly finishing 2nd to me in the 2019 Irish derby...
KEEP STRONG AND FIGHT ON ......

Now thats the banter I like. Even just to make it to the Irish Derby through a few rounds is good enough for me. Lets hope we meet at the Derby and at least have a pint of Guinness together.

Great Post Trevor. Great to know people still have a greyhound related dream when all we mostly hear is negative story's. I'll be watching out for your boys running. Hopefully get good odds (:

Cheers Shay. Been a long battle with cancer but now I see light at the end so I can follow my dream in bringing a couple dogs for the Irish Derby this year.

I am wondering if Joe Hurley is still about with greyhoundsin Northern Ireland as would love to touch base with him.

Again thanks mate.

Regards
Trevor

You'll be needing an Aussie catcher Trevor.
Wouldn't be trusting the Irish lads if you win through to the big one..... I happen to be available.

Hey Jamie your most welcome to come with me Mate I will cover the expense as be good to catch up with you as have not seen you on the racetrack a while now here in Australia. You certainly have some very good ones that were going around. You must have taken a break over the summer. Did you manage to head back over to South Africa? Be great to catch up with you again mate. My dog is in final tomorrow for the 2019 John Gray. If he jumps will be hard to beat. Very impressive heat win running fastest heat and drawn nicely in box two.

Lets meet up soon Jamie and yes if interested come over with us Sir. Thanks to you for your advice when going through cancer as it helped me a lot. I owe you big time mate on some advice you gave me.

God Bless.

Trevor

Will definitely be coming and hoping its with the two nice ones I have going around just now as they look competitive for the Derby. Be interesting having Aussie dogs to finally come over for no doubt the best race in the world.
