My bags dont list it, maybe older stock, I have sent them an email asking to confirm but if its on the bag cant be used for race dogs without threat of positive. Good pick up Peter.

Thanks Peter for your current post on Coprice Working Dog. Looking forward John to hearing about the reply you get with your email. I have seen the brand grow in popularity for all working dogs. Australian made and advertised to support Aussie farmers. It's a pity if they isolate the racing greyhound. Not sure why they would want to lose some of their market, doesn't make sense. Their either ignorant or they don't care. Hope it's not either, but it doesn't sound promising. Oh well, may just have to look forward to looking at something even better.

Hi Peter the green bag Coprice Family Dog Food has green tea in it its listed on their web site ://www.coprice.com.au/product/family-dog-food/
non of the Coprice working dog types including the green bag chicken have it listed yet

Hi Peter - do they still put the date of manufacture on the new look bags? That might solve everyone's queries.
I cant help much as I have an old style bag without any green tea listed. Date of MFG is 22/09/18. Picked it up two weeks ago.

Thanks for your enquiry.
It is my understanding that the use of the green tea is an antioxidant protecting the product in a very small amount. The levels are too low for testing within the product for caffeine, and we have samples sent off to confirm this is valid. Once this information is confirmed, we will inform the Greyhound associations and get the message out to all trainers and testing officials that CopRice Working Dog does not contain a banned substance and is safe to use with Greyhounds.

Hi John
Just been talking to shannon my self on the phone this morning and was very helpful
They have the understanding from their supplier that the green tea is DE CAFFEINATED but are waiting to get confirmation in writing and are currently doing tests of their own just to make sure and then will release a statement as advised in your email swift action from coprice which is good to see i'm sure we will get a good result out of this

Just had follow up call from Coprice, and I must say their attention to this matter has been exceptional. They expect the results of testing to be back tomorrow and will call me direct with the results. I will ask for an email and will post on here.

As a prior avid coprice working dog user I have the following concerns with the potential inclusion of green tea into the product and then having the same company doing the testing to appease the greyhound market.
does anyone remember volkswagon and the omissions saga? or the man who says hes from the tax office and he is here to help you.
At the RADB what coprice says will be entirely irrelevant. a positive swab is just that and it is likely to contaminate the dog just by driving past the pet food factory.

Green tea powder cost me a 4 month DQ, forcing me to get rid of dogs that I bred, raced and loved. I read the label of Coprice yesterday in the shop. It's the one with the new look bag. It has green tea in it.

I personally will not use it on race dogs while it has it listed as a product and will tell the Sales Manager that tomorrow, I will continue on retired/pups etc.
I will also send him a link to this thread.
I would think they would sell tons and tons per week of the product to dog trainers.
Finding a convenient substitute is the next challenge.

Only got a quick minute, just having a quick look at recent threads. Can make a quick post here. My supplier handed to me a product technichal data sheet on : "hypro premium greyhound racer" for consideration. 20 kg bag going for around the $ 47.00 mark. I haven't had time to analyse 100 per cent , I may just order a bag and see what the stool is like after initial blending out is complete with coprice. From a glance the info. looks ok. He pointed out to me that the info has on it: official supplier to Wheeler Greyhound Kennels (like have you heard of them kinda thing? - -- Hmm yeah..). p.s. still got to contact Jack yet. n.b. just thought I'd mention the brand, as it is one that I haven't seen so far, and it goes with the convo.

And therein Jamie lies the rub - we all know that the new bags list it. But we dont know if the older bags have the new formula in it and that is the very reason I asked earlier about manufacturing dates and lot Numbers. I have an older style bag used with my race dogs... does that mean I am safe or does that just mean they used up old look bags when they changed the formula to include this.

I wouldn't be relying on tests to say it's decaffeinated. Better off to stop buying it. Soon enough the manufacturers will realize that sales have dropped 1000% since they changed the recipe. Any antis working at Coprice?
