It is with great sadness that I notify former patrons of Walthamstow of the passing of Trumpers Woods at the grand old age of fourteen-and-a-half. Trained by John Sherry, "Woody" ended his career on a high in the last week of racing at the old London track, before retiring to Leicestershire.
A kind, sensitive dog, he was a joy to own, and will be much missed by us all.

Thanks for that, Martin, and for reminding me of his first win.

So difficult when they go, they leave such a big gap in your life. We lost our adopted girl a few weeks back, but take comfort that she had a very happy retirement.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Douglas. And you are quite right, they do leave a gap. We have had around a dozen greyhounds, plus many other much-loved animal friends but it doesn't get any easier, even when they have lived to a ripe old age.
