Hi all,
I wish to ask people who are just owners not owner/trainers, a question regarding GWIC and its registration process.
On Monday I sent an transfer of Ownerhip form along with a Partnership application to GWIC via eamil, with this I sent through a mates ownership applocation as well as he is wanting to be part of the partnership in a dog we bought. Serveral days passed and I thought I had better ring to see wbere it was upto. I was informed that the partnership would take about 6 weeks to process and that given my mte was not registed yet would most likely be longer. I ask about my mates registration and informed he would need to.send criminal record check, a passport sized photo with signed back and a JP signed copy of bis License. When I stated that must have changed as When I did mine I did not need criminal record check or photo signed give as an owner we never had Cards issued i was informed it should be as it is in thr rules of racing.
So my question is has any owner ever had a ID card issued by GRNSW when they registers or GWIC?
Sorry about the length but thought back ground was important.

I used to hold a public trainers licence.( 1990's and before) Unblemished record. Got back in, (when the dirt hit the fan) i have bred 3 track record holders, city winners all out of couple of litters i believed in. Now i have to comply Police check ($57.20) a whole lot of other conditions, Passport photo ( $20.00) all signed by a J.P.. I know of many prominent trainers, who would not get off first base. KWIK have told me,6 to 8 weeks before approval. Also told me, don't get caught handling a dog. These people hate us!!! I want names of the faceless people who sit around a table inventing restrictions on people who hold no truck with LGBTIQUIZAD people. I want names of the " greenie lefto weirdo's, My name is here!!!

Hi Mark, from the ownership point of view, when I registered as a owner years back I needed to go to the offices in Aulburn and give a copy of a photo and I got a rego card, but then the next year they were phased out so it was basically useless.
With GWIC they want everyone to have a photo ID now with the new rules, but the ownership regos are automatically rolling over to 2020 so you wont need to provide the photo until then if you are a existing owner. This is unless you have a syndicate, or you register as a new owner, a new owner needs photo ID, police check etc. With syndicates for an existing owner you just need to pay the $38 and provide a photo for the manager of the syndicate.
Syndicates have to be re registered with GWIC if they were set up pre July 2018, but if they were set up after that then they rollover to 2020 too.
They havent decided on the framework for the fees for 2020 yet.

new owners to the partnership still need to be registered. Pretty much everything `greyhound' related has to be registered / licensed in one way, shape or form.

Thanks Mark. I have just paid $114 to renew partnership registration although none currently have dogs. Thought I had better incase something goes wrong.

I thought a participant could be just an owner, but no category for it, unless its called something else?

There is just a classification as participant as owner and you have to register as an owner. Which costs nothing, except now too even just own a dog or be part owner of a dog as a new owner registration you have to as has been stated before get a police get police check which costs over $50 and provide a passport size photo. When I registered as an owner all I had to do was fill in the form and provide a JP cert copy of ID. Since I manage several partnerships I had to register them and provide photo and ID again. Considering I had already paid the vego costs for partnerships and before they just rolled over I felt it a bit rich tho charge again. It has made it harder to be able to quickly form a partnership with first time owners. I thought the whole point is to get as many new owners involved in the great sport.
