It's a restructuring Carol and means the 'also rans' get an additional 10 which seems fair under the present grading system.

RESTRUCTURING OF SIS PRIZE MONEY
IGB
Following engagement with representatives of the greyhound community, the Board has approved a variation of the standardised race prize money structure applicable to SIS meetings.
The new prize money structure involves a reduction of first prize (25) and second prize (5) to provide for a payment of 30 in respect of 4th, 5th and 6th placed greyhounds. The revised prize money structure is set out below.

Yes Kevin now 30 euro a good thing a increase but it's been taken off from others to pay I.e breeders incentive to race in Ireland of which after 5 races you received a payment as a breeder you got a 15 euro as breeder for a win this helped a lot of small breeders keep going some of these we now possibly stop breeding yes a lot breed for the love of the game but this helps so who's the loosers we no who are the winners

Peter I read it as a 'restructure' and the winners prize being reduced by 25 and the second prize reduced by 5. I haven't seen anything in the restructuring notice that states money is being taken from the breeders. Whilst I agree additional money to fund the also rans would have been welcomed I still think an additional 10 to the also rans is a fairer redistribution.

Personally I'd like to see this extended to non SIS races where currently the also rans get nothing and this is after paying 10 entry, the cost of petrol to get to and from the track, plus the associated cost of keeping a racing dog. The owner/trainer is out of pocket the moment their dog crosses the line in 4th, 5th or 6th place.

Thanks Stephen. That must have been issued separately. It's hard to keep up with the smoke and mirrors within the sport these days. Suffice to say it's the dog people who will pay.

They didn't restructure their pension scheme, when it was down money, a big lump sum was added from the sale of harrolds x, why is it a case of hitting the person who provides the dogs for the tracks, Meaney was terrible but dollard seems to be a clone of him, hasn't hardly been seen or heard since the rte programme.
We need a leader in our hour of need.
