Latest from Maitland track. Participant asked to lift their pants so steward could check socks, as the pants were covering the socks. Reprimanded for having white socks. How long before somebody has to drop their pants, and reveal the color of your underpants! Really, how bloody pedantic!

Reported as true. It could only happen at Maitland, the steward in question even asked the "offender" to check the notice pertaining to the rules. By the way, the sock "bandit" was female.

The stupid part of it all, is the socks were'nt showing in the first place. This steward has little to do obviously, and smacks of wear the title and terrorize the participants. ( Look At Me Syndrome) Kevin me lad, you will have to blacken your feet with boot polish!

I had heard that someone who wore green socks was told they would be fined next time. What constitutes dark?
I also notice under this dress code that it applies to catchers now when it didnt before. I think that is a bad move and I dont understand why. The code states they want a neat and tidy appearance for broadcast races but they dont show the catching pen anyways.

That's nearly as bad as the Stewards/Integrity people breathalyzing trainers at Devonport recently ... including one 70yo(plus) lady who it's doubtful she's ever had a drink

Honestly you would think that our Intregrity Officers would actually concentrate on matters of Integrity
There are so many other things they could turn their attention to
The colours of socks...its getting beyond a joke if they are actually serious about this
It actually means that we have people in these positions who have no idea of what constitutes integrity and are either being overpaid or have too much time on their hands
Time they were made redundant

Perhaps the good people of NSW should declare a "Kilt Day" with no undies...dark long socks of course. Boxing up should make interesting viewing. Hate to have the starter's job.
It's all a bit like what difference does it make what a news reader wears under the desk.
No person on Earth knew what socks were under the long pants...because they couldn't SEE them...Aah, ya gotta love PC.
The world's gone to pot.

We had the same problem here in the shaky Isles when the uniform dress code was introduced. An outcry similar to this one followed and the stipes backed off a bit. One prominent trainer I know wore a pair of tartan socks every following meeting, for years without being hauled in.

This is a interesting topic .... .05 . ..... If i want to drink half a dozen pots of beer over a few hours then i should be allowed to enjoy this luxury...
You have to be licensed to use the.05 Testing equipment and the testing unit must be tested and calibrated each time it is used ...
.05 Testing must also include a Blood Test and or a Police booze bus must be present for a secondary test ....One test does not stand up in Court what if you blow .06 and a second test at a hospital proves you are well under .05 ..Who is liable for the associated costs ..
