Sandro,
Thanks for those links. Enjoyed watching them.
Do you know if they are going to do the box draw for the semis on Saturday night?
I wouldve thought there was an opportunity for some promotion there. I am hoping given how big the race is and the fact that it is only winners through to the final that it wont be the usual all secretive box draw done in their offices but instead be something the public can watch and that they can use promote the race.

There are some very committed and professional people working very hard to ensure the future of the code is left in no doubt.

Sandro,
Interesting but as an ignoramus can you tell me how these Youtube shots are normally accessed by the public?

Cut and paste and put on display thru everyones FB
Anyone whos a friend of any greyhound related person whos done this will see this
More importantly its shown from someone who cares thus having more meaning then a advert splash with a alternative reasoning for it on main stream tv
Well done

Its about time we had a campaign that promotes a positive image for our industry/sport instead of apologizing for who we are. Well done to those involved

These ads are absolutely first class in showcasing the beauty of our sport and the animal itself
Well done GRNSW for having a red hot go at promoting our sport !!
Well said Sandro, we are all too quick to pot the Authorities but rarely give praise when due. See you all on Friday for the semi's, may lightning strike twice ;)

Carly
Not sure what the program is for the box draw, but one on course would be exciting for sure
Jim
I have your number in my phone, I will text/call you when I arrive on course and meet up
Nathan
You are 100% right. Its about time we had someone who has passion and is invested in the sport looking out for it
Geoff
You are also 100% right . Its time to showcase what a great sport we have and promote our welfare platform, not apologize for being there

Geoff/Sandro,
Definitely. The 2018 MDC did that as the media quickly jumped on to it and, for example, the SMH hugely increased its coverage of greyhound racing.
Neds280s did the same because GRNSW invested an unknown amount into direct ads. Sadly, we have no idea how much it cost, what the attendances were and how much benefit we got out of it. And they were crap races.
The 2019 MDC has led to a huge bonus - FTA coverage on Ch9. Excellent.
Anything on SKY pitches to punters/gamblers, which is fair enough but does nothing for the general public.
This new bunch of ads are done professionally but I still have no idea how they will be used and how they will influence the public. Personally, I would have preferred to see them directed more to "a day in the life of the greyhound" (or the breeder/trainer) etc rather than racing as such.
The prime issue is that the majority of the public do not support the breed. If we can reverse that the racing bit will follow - not before.

I'm told that it will cost GRNSW about $800,000 for the 9 GEM coverage. Nothing is for nothing.

The MDC has created the excitement, these excellent promotional videos coupled with free to air coverage will give the sport momentum it has lacked for a while.
Thanks for the positivity and leadership shown by our Administrators and participants!
