Have members experienced a dog (or bitch) losing form whilst 'coating'
or is it an old wives tale.

Thanks for that Robert, have to wait a bit for the sun though. Reason I asked I have a pup that I groom regularly then all of a sudden on Monday its coming out in handfuls, She raced Monday but fell away after leading. Looking for a reason I suppose.

Has she had a season yet John as it may be hormonal changes with the bitch causing her to coat?

I would lay her of for a bit john it could be sumthing to do with her hormones john hard to say with out seeing her but if she was mine I would get her blood tested to see just for peace of mind I did have abitch years ago whos coat did come out in lumps it took about 6 to 8 weeks to come out but she always came back to form and she was a minor open sprint race bitch hope this helps john
