Just thought i would ask everyone's opinions on who wins & why.I'll start by saying Oakvale Beauty, last nights win was very, very impressive, considering it was her first race start at Wenty, one would think she should improve from that gallop, her sectionals were a reflection of her class & overall time.It is obvivuos that "Frankie"will be the one to beat, but as we know,he can be ordinary out of boxes..i dont think he can afford to give away a start to OB & Caishen & win.Anyway, just my thought's,it will be an exciting race to watch, best of luck to all the dog's,trainer's & owner's that are involved.

Frankie just keeps doing what seem impossible. He should never have won his heat. I think his issue is that if hes a bit slow early he may get boxed in But if the gap opens on the first turn its tuttar

Feral Franky is a certainty. Was not entitled to win last week

I think he will get a great run through from the 1 box

G'day Sandro/Bill,Confidence with a "capital C " 'ay,there's plenty of conviction also, good onya fella's...does this mean you you are both on him to win the Australian Cup ??, he is currently at 12's to take it out...go on Sandro, youv'e got plenty of that "folding stuff " ...make the corparates tremble a bit, make him favourite mate, lol.( i must admit though he wasn't entitled to win,one of the hollowist wins i ever seen,he certainly is a tough bugger. ).

Agree Franky will be entitled to be favourite but I lean towards Jason Magri's dog King Cratos - has a good first section & a 29.67 best time on the track-could be hard to run down if he gets to lead at the first turn or just after.
Should be a great race to watch.

Very difficult race to assess as there are likely to be clashes on the first turn. The leader is uncertain but cannot see Oakvale jumping to the front as in the heat.

My EW choice at the odds would be Western Envoy (3) as it is possible it will take the prime position as they round the turn and prove hard to run down. Ran a great race in the Mel Cup.

The Feral may well run another 29.9 but that will not be sufficient to win the race. His best run was much quicker but that followed a fair beginning which is unlikely this time.

Feral Franky doesn't know how to read time on the clock, means nothing to him.He does however, more then any other dog in Australia atm, know where that finish line is.He's just a Hard core chasing machine.Watch him get a run through the first corner, pick his run with his great track sence, and win.He won't give a flying FK if he only runs 29.90 something, he only cares about chasing that bunny and getting across the finishing post in 1st place!!

Thing is Shane, if he gets the clean run, he can run 29.50 and win the race and as you say, interference doesn't bother him, he just tries harder

He's a great dog

G'day Sandro,i'm pretty sure that there were only 4 dog's in that race ( i could be wrong ),& he began well that night & had clear run to the post & the rest is history, but the way they are all boxed could be disastrous for Franky if he doesn't begin on terms with them.Connies Boy has drawn beautifully in box 2 & lands straight on the rail Western Envoy is nicely drawn but has Start A Riot drwn next to him & has been stepping to the left & carving across to the rails,Bucks Future probabably begins ordinarily & get's spat out the back. That leaves the two "speed " dog's Oakvale Beauty & Caishen & possibly King Cratos ( who is very nicely drawn )to carve across & likely be the leaders going thru the pen & well into the back straight ??,so if Franky doesn't begin cleanly ( as good as he is ),i can see him being potentially 2nd last heading past the 700 boxes, spotting the leaders 6-8 lengths going past the 700 boxes,& if it pans out like that ,i don't think he can make up that ground without finding trouble.Anyway just my take on the race,( Now that I've said all that,Franky will probably ping & lead to the post the first time...& gives them a hiding lol ) Cheers mate.
