I read on FB here in Ireland one trainer phoned up a rescue centre to rehome 9 greyhounds all were related the trainer was asked to hold on to them until suitable accomodation could be found for them. The second phone call to the rescue centre was, if you don't take them they are going to be pts. Now the cost of this is a minimum vet charge of 70 x 9 = 630. Well the rescue centre took them - what else could they do as they are such caring people. We are not yet into the first week of closure for racing, and yet this person wanted to get rid of his/her dogs. We are meant to be be humans, our dogs rely on us to keep them safe. No wonder the world is in the midst of an epidemic, Mother Earths way of saying Fuck You, for the way you are treating this planet. Please do not destroy your dogs keep them safe they rely on you.

Don't believe what you read on FB without names and proof. This is a ploy done for many years in the U.S. by the antis.

If the FB page doesn't at least name the adoption group then I wouldn't believe them.

This is part of what was on fb 21 hours ago, and there were also pictures. They have no reason to tell lies.

We had been contacted two weeks ago by their trainer to see could we take these dogs in.. To which we asked him to hold onto them for a little while longer, to send photos to us and we would book them in for neuturing, at cost to ourselves, and as things began to move again we can filter these lost souls into our fantastic foster homes, for the love and care they deserve 💖

Yesterday we got a phone call, that instead he had chosen a different route and made an appointment for all of them to be euthanized and disposed of from his yard early this morning.

We have trainers that are holding onto dogs for us, as they understand the current Covid-19 crisis and we apologise to them that they will now have to wait even longer for their dogs to come into our ... 💔

We made contact with him this morning, and arranged to collect all 6 this morning, after a lot of phone calls organising a van, somewhere for them to go, and finally be safe ......

When we arrived there was 9 to be "gotten rid of".... How do you say no when those faces are looking at you??? You can't, you would never forget those eyes looking at you, pleading with you... So we loaded each one individually quietly and quickly into the van.... finding out each of there names 🥰🥰

All 9 are related, Mothers and sons, brothers and sisters, and granny's and grandchildren.. #family

Carole if you have not already done so please inform IGB Careline of the details on 061 448100. They can investigate the matter and take appropriate action - AT LEAST ban him/her from registering a greyhound ever again.
