When I click on the dog search tab the Facebook ads are in Chinese. Anyone else have this problem?

Top right side of the page there is a Chinese and UK flag. Try pressing the UK flag, if that doesn't work something is probably broken

Matt,

That kind of works. When I click the U. K. flag in the top right those ads do go to English, but when I leave the page and go back to it it is in Chinese again.

Jack,

You may be right. LOL

Hi Dick, I will get the I.T. to take a look. Unfortunately he is off until Monday. Try press the UK flag and then refreshing the page.

Tony,

Once I click the U.K. flag the ads are in English. If I get out of the dog search page, say to the forum, and then go back to the dog search page I am back to Chinese and if I click the U.K. flag it will go back to English.

I should point out the dog search page is the only page the ads start in Chinese. If I go to the forum page everything is is in English as it always has been.

Is there a reason why Chinese is even an option?

The Chinese have there own Stud book and Data is now in Chinese as well as English ....There is nothing wrong having a separate site for our Chinese Members .
Greyhound racing is almost over in the USA but it will be thriving in a few years in China .....it only stands to reason why China now has it's own Stud Book and in a few years it could be bigger than Australian greyhound racing in China .

Kevin,

Thanks, I thought once Macau was shut down that there was no legal racing in China. Good to know that some country is expanding racing.

Mainland China is not Macau ...
Greyhound Racing is not banned in China Gambling is banned ...

Most Chinese race Greyhounds for fun its a hobby .
The Chinese are very competitive with each other and many strive to have the fastest dogs in China

The Chinese were able to buy the very best dogs in any Country but we all turned our backs on them and then Treated them like shit ....

Chinese Greyhound racing in 5 years will be huge....
All Gambling Tracks get closed down the Chinese come down hard on Gambling but the Chinese are allowed Greyhounds and they are allowed to race for trophies Prizes and ribbons much like it was back in the day in the USA Aust and the UK before it become Pro racing

^^ True that Kev. And the prizes can be very lucrative indeed like cars, cruise trips (god knows who would take a cruise right now but that's an aside). It operates somewhere between here and Saluki racing in the middle east. Prizes are the legal incentive anyway. But to say money doesn't change hands well.. it's just off the books. Have you ever wondered how they raise the funds to award the prizes? ;) Money is like particle physics, it never gets eliminated or destroyed, it just changes hands.

Hi Jason, I am the CEO of the Greyhound Racing Club of Mainland China and we have not even had a race meeting therefore no money has changed hands on or off the books. Any person found gambling at one of our race meetings (if we decide to have them) would be removed from our organisation immediately.

Hi Dick, we used Chinese as they were the first country who offered to supply all the translations which is months of work. It would be great to see other countries also come on board and supply us with all the translations.

On the circle tracks Tony you are correct. I could send videos on straight (unofficial tracks) but I am a supporter of racing not an anti so I won't bring the industry into disrepute here or anywhere ever.

Chinese buyers didn't invest in stud dogs and stock and part with their hard earned coin to race for ribbons. Love to see greyhounds race and the ones that make it love to do so. No money involved, yeah okay.. sure.

Jason, there are 2 groups of people with greyhounds in mainland China those on the gambling tracks and those that are trying to set up a system of care similar to Australia. I am working with a group of vets and people who care for their dogs and are desperate to learn more. I did not say prizemoney would not be involved.

Please see the link below and maybe you can appreciate the hard work that has been put in by our organisation and what we are trying to achieve:

I understand Tony and wish you much success with it. History with similar undertakings in Vietnam does not bode well but China is a different culture. If it can work to develop a growth industry with acceptable animal welfare comes I am all for it.
