I have a problem with my young chaser, he is okay on trial days,
but plays up something terrible when shut away from trainer when
he is kenneled on race days. If anyone can help it would be most
appreciated.

Get the trainer to put one of his unwashed tshirts in the kennel.
The dog will know his smell.
It may help a little bit but other dogs barking obviously excites him.

Is he shut away on trial days Ron. Good idea with the the shirt as Jamies mentioned. What else is different on race days than trial days except for possibly more dogs in the kennels etc.. Cheers

Trial days he's more interested in the sounds of the lure, and watching the other dogs. On race days he gets excited whenever someone enters the kenneled section to take their dogs out for a race or afterwards.
Thanks for the tip Jamie and Michael, he has so much talent, but seems to run his race in the kennels prior to his race.

Ron, try some Good as Gold powder. We have used it in the past with success, and it does calm them down. You should be able to buy it locally, and it comes in sachets for dogs. Good luck.

Here you go, Ron.
Best thing since sliced bread.
To be sure, buy some ear plugs as well.
The shirts work on most dogs I've tried, some better than others but they WORK.

Don't tell anyone else though...

Oh, don't buy the XL, too big for Greys. If he's a decent size, go the next size down.

Good luck.

It doesn't swab Ron, as there is nothing in it that would cause a positive.
