No answers at present. I think someone from the IGB must be coming on here reading this, as a bit later the same thing comes up on Talking Dogs. I wonder if anyone has come up with what is going to happen at the pickup. All very well having social distance in operation but at the end of the race you have 6 people scrabbling to pick their dogs up. Does anyone know how to teach the dogs to social distance. Even wearing masks and gloves you still have to be 2m apart.

Carole, all that the pick up needs is two curtains and people can collect their dogs one at a time, we had a curtain for many years at Shelbourne and it worked very well

Flat racing is starting in June 8th where they will go into stalls for the start of the race, only inches from each other and the government have no problem with that.
David I hope that will work, but if you go through the 70 page document that the horse industry produced you may understand why they have been given the go ahead. Maybe the IGB have a plan, god only knows they need to start informing people just what they are doing, not just copying stuff that other people are doing, they get paid enough its time they started earning their money. We have TDs standing up for us making themselves heard, but yet again the IGB remain silent yet again, in a crisis.

GBGB have written to all registered trainers with specific instructions regarding the many aspects of handling a greyhound at a race meeting. The instruction for procedures at the Sough (or pick-up) is exactly as stated by David. Doubtless Igb will be doing the same, maybe through the Control Stewards.
