Like most trainers in Lock-down my dog van has been inactive for a while, yesterday I opened the bonnet to see two rats nests on the engine and a cable with the plastic insulation chewed. I checked two more vehicles and found a nest in each one with damage to electric cables.
I live in the countryside as do most trainers so my advice is to check your engine compartments.

John its not just in the country I live 500m from Wentworth Park and the rats are running wild around here I just spend $750 getting my car fixed from rats getting under the bonnet.

I lived on 27 acres in Mildura.
It was rat paradise when we got there.
We got a fox terrier.
Problem solved. Not a rat, cat or snake to be found within a month.

It is a problem caused by the closure of cafes and restaurants, they have no instant daily food supply so are out on the prowl and running wild.

Yes Tezza, we have:

Wuhan Wyong
Wuhan West Wyalong
Wuhan Wagga
Wuhan Wangaratta

Love the Fox Terrier story. Indoors and in a urban area, I occasionally use Ratsak Terrier, but away from dogs and children. Seriously though, rats piss and droppings are no good anywhere, especially where greyhounds are domiciled.

Yeah heard the same advice, seems to work.
Bloody Foxies, the bane of all urban trainers. Caused me constant headaches when walking hounds around Canberra years ago.

Snakes up here take care of most of the rodents, and Chooks! and the occasional Dog on a chain.

Hi Guy's around here ,and where you can have your van/car safe, people find leaving the bonnet up when not using it serves a great deterrent. ut you will still need to put moth balls or similar in side, especially around gearbox housing, Bob Glover

Bob, are you the same Bob who calls "Poppy" on the 2sm networks on some weekends?
If yes! congrats for always Championing the Greyhound cause.
However "Poppy"is a lost cause, she detests any gambling on Animal racing.
