Sad to hear of the tragic loss of karen leek
Karen was one of the true long serving trainer ,rear,s breeders in our sport ,I have known Karen as so many others in racing for so many years
But about 7 months ago we got our heads together we decided I would take one of her bitches LADY CEECEE and go to Barcia Bale ,I would whelp her and go halves in the litter from then on me and my wife became good friends ,hope they turn out champions ,her knowing in breeding was second to non and was always willing to help other people ,she will be sadly missed by many of her friends ,
ps I would hope that the GRV or some club will come up with some memorial race for her ,Rest in peace my friend
Reg

By going off the reports, it sounds like a case of only the good died young. Very sad.

R.I.P. Karen....& those that loved her, stay strong.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Karen Dawn Leek will be held on Tuesday 23 June at 2pm.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this service is by invitation only, however it will be live streamed.

The greyhound racing community has been devastated by the shock news of Karens passing at age 69.

Karen was one of the most respected people in our sport, widely recognised for her success as a breeder, rearer and trainer.

People wishing to view the service are advised to click on the link below at 1.45pm on Tuesday 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

If there more Karen Leeks in the industry we would not be having anywhere near the animal welfare issues that we have had or are having. "FACT" (RIP Karen)
