GRV has announced that it will televise racing to Canada very soon.
Now THAT'S Marketing, anouther coup for them, well done to all who wer'e involved in exposing Australian Greyhoun Racing globally,& it could even attract new syndicates who might be intrested in an Austalian race dog, which in turn, injects funds into our industry.

What I am hoping that these new ventures into the USA & Canada, will only build the momentum for the States to reinstate greyhound racing and for Canada to start providing live greyhound racing themselves

If they & other countries can copy the standards and models we have here in Australia then the sport can reignite again...the main thing is to convince their citizens that the sport is being managed with full welfare consideration given to the main participant itself...the greyhound

Its very important for the USA and the rest of the greyhound world as the superb lines that they have developed over many years will be lost if they can;t get their act together

G'day Sandro,
Exactly mate, but they can't be privately owned & run imo,i think it has to be run,as you say, modelled on the very best in the world,Australia's.
PS,how are you getting you're head around the New Dogs Site ??

Good to see some strategic thinkers at GRV .Now they need to concentrate on the grass root participants that are leaving the industry .
Do more for increasing funding to the country clubs so they can increase funding for lower grade meetings held on a Saturday morning for the trainers who work during the week ,and have to take time of work to participate at some meetings held during the day.what the industry needs is more funding at the bottom end not the top end .

Sandro couldnt agree more.

This however will never occur , the USA as a country are gone, misguided and unsure of what they are with the overhang of political correctness and Christian ideals. You cant get a drink in LA after 12, cant bet anywhere but Vegas and on course and cancelled poker online and sport. Greyhounds racing is on a one way path to oblivion, horse /harness will be next.

Agree, some of the US States have misguided ideals when it comes to their moral compasses

However, money talks all languages.

If the States who currently support the sport and those who have not revoked gambling licences for greyhound racing can be shown that there is substantial money to be made to support health, police, roads and other State responsibilities, as well as provide employment and trade, then they may be convinced to support opening of tracks along with the welfare and rehoming plans in place

Do it right, right and tight from the start.

It needs a concerted effort by the NGA in the USA to start opening up new interest in the sport

If the Florida people are too stupid to realise what they have let go, do not stop West Virginia, Kansas and other States to foster the sport
