You can't go past the 1997 National Derby final.Paul Ambrisoli stated its the best race he ever called, and he called thousands of races!
It was because of the Tenacious chasing of Deep North(Box 4) and Roanokee(Box 1).If some of the Lots of Non Chasers we have today were able to sit down and watch one Race replay on Lessons how to chase properly, how to chase Super Hard, this is the only race to watch! Roanokee and Deep North, both speed dogs came out running! The desperation these 2 showed to stay at the front and win,I've never seen anything like it.It was almost like a match race how these 2 went at it,full throttle! Deep North got his head in front down the back on the outside of Roanokee,Roanokee refused to give in and surged in front again,Deep North reacted the same way,and he got to the lead again, this happened between the 2 of them from the moment they left the boxes, swapping the lead.In the straight in the run to the line, you can see Deep North pull out every muscle fibre needed to get passed Roanokee, and he did.Only to be nailed right on the line by Comrade in Arms by about a short nose, because he had the sit on Roanokee and Deep North who were having a bumping duel all the way around.Box draws help win races,I still say to this day,if Deep North had the 1 box in that race, would of been Deep Norths National Derby that night, but that's racing.Watch the replay for the best chasing between 2 dogs you could EVER hope to see.I don't know how to put races on here,be great if someone could post it 1997 National Derby at Wentworth Park.

100%

There was one similar to the UK stayer, but in NZ. The UK one was a freak of a stayer.
