Daryl,
You mention having a soft spot for Kawati Miss, well I had a bit of a soft spot for her sire Kawati Boy who took part in one of the best finishes to a race I can remember; I wish I had footage of it.
As posted by myself about ten years ago ..."One of the greatest finishes I can ever recall was the 1978 Association Cup final at Harold Park.
I remember being ridiculed at the time for even suggesting that the 50/1 roughie Cyclone Corsica had a chance, let alone what I considered a great chance of winning. Whilst it meant betting against some then favourite dogs of mine - Michele Cherie, Little Vogue and Kawati Boy, I went with my convictions and duly spent the rest of the night boasting.
Cyclone Corsica came from the clouds to nail the early leader Kawati Boy by 1/2 a head, with Michele Cherie 1/2 a head away in third. Dusty Ginny was a nose away in fourth, Little Vogue, Delbairn Babe and Tatto Boy were fifth, sixth and seventh respectively; in all, only two lengths covered the entire field - a fantastic finish!"

Hey Ryno find the 1988 Australian cup final , you'll see me handle the box 1 dog modern gossip , but a pesky golden blessing just wouldn't go away ):

Yes he certainly did Ryan . More like advice, he actually helped a lot of people. In this particular case he said " I shouldn't tell you this but there's 5 grand in it for you , if he wins . Just be yourself " Modern gossip hurt a wrist ligament in the cup final and subsequently was beaten at his next start I think at geelong, by dissick I think. Great days , and thanks for digging it up mate .

The dog I enjoyed watching most was the stayer, Farrarami. Was always tailed off midway through it's races and would come home with a wet sail. Great stayer !
Couldn't find any footage but maybe someone can help.
