Today I learnt of the passing of my old mate Ray Burgess of SA. I first was introduced to Ray when I wanted to place my dog Kapalos with a trainer in SA. He did a magnificent job with her and we remained in close contact ever since. Ray up until last week would ring me 2-3 times a week, yes he would tell me the same story but as he would say that doesnt matter he was very proud of his latest two bitches, one in particular. I remember seeing one of them win last Thursday night, and was looking forward to this weeks call to congratulate him, but that wont be.
Ray was a take no bullshit kind of person which I totally admired; he called a spade a spade. I send my condolences to his son and family and friends. This news has totally shattered me today

RIP old mate

That's really sad to hear.
He was a nice guy. I was very happy to see him train a winner last Thursday in Bangor Sophia.

Rest in Peace Ray.
Condolences and prayers to the family.
