Just wondering what a decent post to post time is at Sandown?
There are a lot of post from a few years ago but are the times the same?
Does anyone have any examples of dogs that ran a post to post time and then an actual race time?
Have a bitch who went around today in 23.56 first look. How does that stack up?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Matt

the difference is approx 6.30 Matt

so your bitch wld go approx 29.86 out the boxes over the 515m providing she doesn't tire badly at the end of that 515m trip

we had one that went 22.92 ptp twice, but he was one out of the box as he made 3 Grp 1 finals and a Grp 3 final.

g/l with your bitch, if she's young and can get the trip she looks promising.

How old is your girl? how much has she done? what has she done elsewhere? How did she go early? what did she run home in? Did she get lost or hug the rail? Was it a short PTP or a longer PTP?

So many questions to answer...

But ultimately, the most important question is: what did you trainer say about the run? Were they happy? Was it what they were expecting?

Matthew, if it helps you any, look up all the trial times on the day on Sandown's website. You can do some comparison there if you need to. Her next trial will give you some idea, too.

Yep agree with Carole. Heres the link EXTERNAL LINK
Realise that not all doing it will be maidens or pre-trainers. Some might just be getting a fitness run or coming back from injury. But as a guidepost checking times relative to the others on the day is useful. All of the others trialled under the same weather and track conditions. The only thing you wont know is the grades and experience of the other dogs but for a post to post youĺl get a pretty good feel for where your dog sits.
