Yeah Steve, another great night of racing tonight mate with all of the usual suspects going around...the BEST of the best "suspects".

I am looking forward to watching Weblec Jet go around,i have always had a pretty good opinion about him,and also another dog who i have a huge wrap on,who excels around Sandown,Christo Bale.

Shima Shine,29.19 !! An abslolutely devastating win !!

You would think only bad luck would get him beat in the final..even this far out from finals night.

Tough Tears flew the lids then let 3 go by on the home corner only to put his foot down in the home straight to claim the 3rd heat in 29.7 at the juicy odds of 44/1.

What stellar performances in the heats by a few of the proven group K9s paying tomato sauce odds & a few surprises at big odds + a few hard luck stories as well. Great Cup final in store + the Bold Trease final as well. Hard to split em.

I'm selecting Simon Told Helen to win. Early markets got him at 4/1. I'll take that e/w all night.

Youd think from the plumb draw of box 2 its STHs to lose. With if they jump either Hard Style Rico or Tommy Shelby challenging down the back...if they can stay close enough??

I will stick with Shima Shine,if he begins to the best he can,i can see him getting a lovely cart across from Tommy Shelby, there isn't going to much room to move going into the first turn with the real possibility of 4-5 of them, vying for the lead,if it pans out that way & there is a bit of "argy bargy",Shima Shine might just find himself in front going thru the pen & prove very hard to run down.

I thought Tommy Shelby's run was the run of the semi's as he had to work hard for his win and to still run 29.21 was impressive with a 10.50 run home

While I am a huge Shima Shine fan with even luck Tommy will be hard to beat IMO

Agree, after getting tightened, to still hold tough to be 2nd into the back ...Tommy was the run of the heats and if he can stay close enough to STH, a huge chance.

STH is 2/2 from box 2 and has a box 2 win at Sandown in 29.10....If he does that near unbeatable for mine. And great value at $2.50-2.60!!

I hate to say it, but that box draw screams first corner carnage. I'll be closing my eyes at that point and hoping they all get around safely.

Well Paul, two of us agree that it could very well turn out like that, there is so much early speed from the boxes to the post,i think there are going to be a few "hard luck " stories, but hopefully they all get their chance to be first past the post.
Cheers bud.

Let it be known I liked Hard Style Rico before he won tonight :) What a run, always liked him but never foresaw him breaking the sandown track record

Hard Style Rico put in 1 of the best runs you will ever see. To break the track record in a Melbourne Cup final shows his true quality & also beckons well for a stud career when his racing days are over.
