Dec. 2020, Secondly, a working group of government agencies and stakeholders is to be established to assist in identifying a suitable alternate site for greyhound racing.

The newly established working group will be wasting no time in getting the ball rolling on a new facility and will meet for the first time early next year to get this process underway.

GRNSW Chief Executive Officer Tony Mestrov said his organisation will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the best possible result for participants in New South Wales.

We are in active negotiations with the NSW Government, GBOTA (Greyhound Breeders Owners and Trainers Association), the industry and participants about city racing post Wentworth Park, Mestrov said.

We look forward to working with the Government in establishing a fantastic new facility for city greyhound racing.

Were now in the second half of 2022, since the above article in Dec. 2020. Have we had any mentions or updates? Did the first meeting of this working group take place in early 2021 and how many times have they since met?

And Mestrov has gone to a Leagues Club where the average term for a CEO is 1.6 - 1.8 years.

Makes me wonder why he really pulled the pin at GRNSW ?

The greyhound industry will always only be a stepping stone or filler for people looking to advance their careers. But, agree the timing to walk away when were looking to relocate from Wentworth Park, doesnt look good!
