This potential ban has been brought on through a petition submitted by a charity. I believe the information used to create that petition was not factually correct and that they used massively inflated figures on the number of injured greyhounds with no supporting evidence. The charity has been asked for evidence on multiple occasions but refused. The petition gained 35k signatures but less than 19k of these signatures came from within Wales.
More details Banning greyhound racing would have an economic impact on individuals involved in the industry. There would also be a direct impact on the Valleys Stadium, and the medium and long term development of the Ystrad Mynach area. There would also be a negative impact on the greyhound breed. Valley Greyhound Stadium is currently in the process of becoming a GBGB registered track.
All tracks licensed by GBGB must adhere to the regulators Rules of Racing which seek to uphold the very highest standards of greyhound welfare and integrity. There are over 200 rules covering all aspects of how the sport is run and regulated including how greyhounds are cared for when they are at the track, at home in their trainers residential kennels, when being transported and into their retirement.
The Senedd currently has a cross party group to support horse racing in Wales, we ask that the same support is shown for greyhound racing.

Everyone globally should be signing this petition. It only takes a couple of minutes of your time and would make the difference, people need to support all racing jurisdictions. Please don't be the ones responsible for being the 'pathetic' in 'apathetic,' sign the petition and then share and get others to sign. Sure there are more pro racers and supporters than there are antis across the globe so achieving more signatures should be a piece of cake. Come on people fgs!

The Anti's love broadcasting the fact that they shut down Greyhound Racing in a country, of course they won't say that there was only one track there
We need to support the right of the Welsh people to race greyhounds and to ensure it is done ethically and with a view to to the welfare of the greyhounds

I spent yesterday evening writing to ministers and journalists. Demanding an ALL breeds discussion and to stop antis isolating greyhounds away from the ALL breeds discussion of a dog is a dog regardless and owned by humans. No ones entertaining banning PET ownership, despite the significantly more and varied atrocities.
Done, it is paramount that we all sign. Many big anti greyhound orgs funding this campaign to ban Greyhound racing, not just wales, but big push in Ireland to to ban racing and cut the source of Greyhounds to the UK. No point in leaving this battle to others. If they get there way in Wales, they will use it as part of their propaganda campaign to ban it in your country. Please take a moment to sign
