That's far too complex a question and one that can't be frivolously explained by just trying to isolate one particular cross that has been done 1000's of times
Its a bit like saying the Barcia/Fernando cross works, but how many pups have and will be bred on that cross
Talking about picking a point of reference out to suit your argument...you have just he same thing, my friend, that you tried to call me out on
That pedigree is almost faultless as it has been built, wittingly or unwittingly , on a number of several proven nicks over the last 20 years
Stick to your mantra of looking at the whole pedigree..you are on the right track with that ;-)

Agree, I was merely highlighting a key ingredient in his pedigree. At no point hanging my hat on one single angle! All good!

The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon is never more prevalent then when we analyse and research pedigrees. If you want to see something bad enough you will see it. Just like the image of Jesus I saw in my Toast at breakfast ;)

I don't know what you're looking at, but I know what I want to see and neither do I stare into my toast looking for the answers, I just eat it before it gets cold

100% you will
Rejuvenate and Postman Pat are both hooked on Scotch out of a leprechaun yap based damline. Both have a Irish influence in their dam and both have black Shiraz in the same position in their damsire. Only the leprechaun yap part is really of any use in the theory but if you're desperate enough to see something you can latch onto anything

By extension then you are also saying that bitches with Magic Sprite. Talks Cheap, Oaks Road & Premier Boloney could also be effective
Perhaps combined with some of those other factors you have identified , you could well be on the right track

I thought you were going to say, when you look in the mirror every morning you see Jesus.
Anyway back on topic. What can we say for certain?
1. NZ dog Postman Pat is an extremely fast dog, with an incredibly exciting future. 2. Hooked On Scotch is now a "Proven" sire, with an incredibly exciting future. 3. Breeding theories are like Arseholes. Everyone seems to have one and some of them stink.

Good read in the HOS topic, when HOS was unproven, you have me banging on about Hooked On Scotch to Larkhill Jo through Fabregas AND breeder Ben George telling you hes fine with using HOS unproven to his bitch Neytiri Queen - result Queen Of Scotch and Locked On Scotch - https:/ CLICK HERE

Maybe HOS dam Nikki Fields carries different individuals that make up 88% of Brett Lee's ped within 5 gens, reintroducing a very high percentage of Brett Lee back into the same damline that gave up the mighty Betty's Angel ? (That's Tesio's reasoning).
Maybe Pat's litter linebred primarily in x to Tranquil Flame thru different individuals and litter mates Awesome Assassin & Goddess of Fire ? Generates a lot of pace linebreeding primarily in x to Tranquil Flame:
Pink Character 3 x 3 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Knocka Knows All 5 x 4 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Sapphire Madam 5 x 4 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Marlow Brown 5 x 4 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Black Driftwood 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Estranged 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Reviewer 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Falcons Fury 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame *Poke the Bear 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Monster Fish 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame Black Forge 5 x 6 in the primary in x to Tranquil Flame
Combining the theories gives up 35%-55% chance of breeding a city type, apparently still not good enuf for some ?

Carrying no Brett Lee and the imbedded outcross excited me to contact Darren Puleio and try and buy Nicki Fields Ryan. So Brett Lee (Sobbing Sal) to her does excite me. The below is a look into the future, rather than in retrospect that some throw at us.
Postman Pat was only 15-16 months when I implanted my bitch with Hooked On Scotch. The similarities are obvious. Lets see what sort of result comes our way?

From a Tesio Perspective its a really hot mating Darren so well done there Nikki Fields carrying different individuals that make up 94%(15 of 16 lines) of Big Daddy Cool's pedigree https:/ CLICK HERE BDC obviously being hugely successful with this line previously with Pillow Torque and her litterm8's.
Also going up HOS' sireline the 2nd dam Princess Bale also linebreeds BDC at 88% within 7 gens https:/ CLICK HERE and that's a lot of intensity created there as well.
The worry for me is that there is no Tranquil Flame in x thru littermates on both sides of the ped as with Postman Pat. So you'll just be relying on the x path thru Polly's & Walking Portrait to Famous Portrait.
The only comparison I can draw in regard to this in x is with Poke the Bear https:/ CLICK HERE who is equal in x to Famous Portrait and Tranquil Flame. I shld add I haven't been following x path that closely lately so there may well be a lot more crosses in x to Famous Portrait thru littermates.
I wld've wanted that x path to be proven as a standalone just to be on the safe side. As I said it may well be. g/l with them.

I am sure that Darren will be ok with it if he gets a Poke The Bear type

Yeah I just had a re-read too, I may have got my initial opinion of Hooked On Scotch very wrong. There's still mixed reports on hooked on scotch and we haven't seen Postman Pat in group races in Australia yet, but all signs point to him being the real deal
