I think we all would love to have a well budgeted, viable, safe, multipurpose track, in an appropriate location, that we could be proud to take friends and family to or to suggest would be a good night out.

Unfortunately I think Cronulla Park doesn't fit that criteria. It's going to expensive to build there, there are ongoing expenses which we will be burdened with and I'm not convinced it's a great location.

It might suit someone like yourself, who live within spitting distance of the proposed complex. But for the majority of participants there are better options.

Personally i dont care where they want this track. What i would like to know, who is this track for. The Gold Coast have been allocated 10 mil to go toward the construction of a new home. Now the controling body believe they can say where this money can and cannot be spent. It is to compensate the closure of the Parklands track, nothing else. The thing is, the Gold Coast club would like to stand alone, and you cant blame them, Ispwich will be the same. So what remains, to relocate the Brisbane club. There is plenty of time for this but first the Gold Coast must get a home and take some presure of Brisbane and Ipswich. If Cairns have to wind up, they should allocate their $400,000 odd to the Gold Coast club. If the governing body had the best interest of the industry at heart, constuction for the replacement Parklands track would be underway. Instead they will do whatever they can to put a stop to them. Closing Mackay and Cairns and giving tab to Townsville is only a short term plan. Townsville are in the same situation as Ipswich, are they not. When the time comes for them to move, they too will be forced to close. That will happen under the current controlling bodies plan. Ipswich will also close under this board eventually, whether they are making a profit or not they will shut them down. Remember, one of the current board members ripped them off plenty. If the industry participants want one complex in Queensland, ok. But every club should have the opportunity to run their own track and have their own identity and establishment.

Dan you have to understand that the $10 million dollars was not awarded to the Gold Coast Club, it was awarded to Greyhounds Queensland Limited.

pmsl that is gold Dan, you are on fire tonight. I remember those heady days very well. Mind you, even I wouldn't have the gumption to say something like that on a forum. No matter how much I thought it was true.

You had better tell the Queensland Racing Minister because he sees it very differently.

There you go again making misleading stastements on a public forum, you really should elaborate on just how the Racing Minster sees it.

Let's just say, I have been using my time constructively whilst staying in Fruckstein.

Would you please stop saying I am being misleading when I disagree with you? lmfao

Unless you can show us where the Qld Racing Minister has said he sees it very differently, you are making misleading statements.

But you can't can you?

Sue the government released that 10 mil to go toward the construction of a new track to compensate Parklands. If it was given to Greyhounds Queensland for other reasons, please show me.

If the good Racing Minister is a man of his word (which I'm sure he is) that is what he conveyed as his understanding of who is entitled to the 10 million. Seeing as he is also very closely linked to Treasury I'm pretty sure he knew what he was talking about, when it comes to who is getting the compensation monies.

Dan don't keep asking me all the questions, do a bit of research yourself and then maybe you can show us whether the Govt awarded $10 million to the Gold Coast Club or to Greyhounds Queensland.

Greyhounds Qld have not lost a track, the GC club did. GQ are quite happy to see tracks close. They have seen to it that several tracks have closed since they have had control. I bet you see that differently also.LMAO

We should get that $42 million quick smart the SUE, there shutting down MACKAY and CAIRNS ( THERES ANOTHER $20 MIL), one more track and there in business........ I will say it again IMO LOGAN is a pie in sky, and QGL board are better served looking after the GREYHOUND administration and not dabbling in REAL ESTATE.

Which track might that be Mal??? Rocky, Capalaba or Bundy?

Why has the board got to resort to closing tracks to raise funds for other projects? Havent they got other ways of revenue raising?
They are alsway telling tracks what to do regards to making money? Why dont they take some of their own advise?

It shows that Bundaberg is still within reach of the metro Brisbane trainers after holding a solid 10 race program yesterday.
And it didnt all go the Brisbane dogs way. The locals held their own.

I knew the day would come, directed to attend an inquiry re the allegations concerning the current board member who ripped them off plenty. Still, no names have i mentioned, rather a reminder about similar posts from the past.
