Very hard for people to comment when very few FACTs are known. All i know is what i have read on this web sight.

From what i have read and looking at a broad picture it seems the harness racing wants to stay at Albion and does not want to sell and the greyhounds want to shift to logan but do not have the money to do so.

Watpac has made an offer to build the complex which i feel is over priced but is roughly the same price as 50% of Albion Park. You may find you get an offer to build the complex if you sign over your share of Albion to them

Brian your best bet is to get LES BEIN to post a copy of there recent QLD WATCHDOG COMMITTEE NEWS LETTER, as this is as close as we will get to whats happening. to try and highlight this a bit...

QGWC have asked QGL to post a web poll so that we can vote on weather we open another interim club whilst waiting for our stand alone club. this will take pressure of the 2 existing clubs and will make sure we can fulfil our racing commitments to SKY RACING in case we have temporary closure of any existing club... etc etc etc. at this stage the two obvious choices are BEEN and TOOW .

private reviews into cost of filling CRONULLA PARK can be as high as $10m so the original cost of $3.4m may well be a pipe dream. there are 4 METHANE TOWERS at CP and they cost $40,000 a year to maintain which will be an extra cost to the new owner. at this stage QGL have not responded to QGWC requests to hold a poll and another letter will be sent

there is quite a bit of info in the newsletter and any concerns would be best discussed with one of the committee members instead of trying to set up another one to achieve the same goal.

Mal,

I am on that watchdog committee and am certainly not trying to set up any other. I am trying to get participant feedback. As an earlier post stated, few facts are being broadcast with most of his information coming from this site.

Sue, i mentioned early free is not usually free so what Mal is writing maybe that the cost of reinstating the land makes the free proposition a bit of a no go in my opinion.

The rumour mill keeps on rolling, but apparently now the closure of the Gold Coast has found it's way to the future Albion park processes, in an arms length type of fashion.

In business normally you go find a block you wish to buy, you get quotes for the construction etc and then you decide whether it's a goer or not. Its not rocket science, but with government the processes are much much slower because wa are dealing with beauracrats and the public purse, expect a long drawn out wait before racing begins.

Brian if you are on the watchdog committee, shouldn't you be posting the facts as you know them on here, posting the watchdog newsletter would be a nice start. Or is it all secret business?

That's the problem with the industry in Queensland, participants are always treated like mushrooms.

Sue,

I certainly have no secrets. Unfortunately i had commitments and missed last meeting, but, was sent minutes and newsletter Friday.

The committee does a newsletter as Mal dawson stated earlier. The reason for my post to begin with was to discover how much the participants in Qld do or don't know. Perhaps i haven't made this clear enough, but i thought i had.

My first post is pretty clear in what i was wanting to achieve, a subsequent post voiced my concern as to how few had responded and i also included my email address in case some were wishing privacy.

I don't think my views are unclear or clouded, they are the same views i voice at the watchdog committee.

Is it a fact that there is a cost of $10m to fill the Logan site?
Is it a fact that the methane towers will cost $40,000pa. to maintain?
Is it a fact that if suitable plans for this sight are presented the land will be gifted?
Is it a fact that if the deal is approved by Govt. they will give $10m in the form of compensation?
Is it a fact that Watpac have estimated costs for plans as presented to be around $45m.?
Brian C K as you can see i am not up to speed with events. Would you please explain about (The rumour mill keeps-----------in an arms length type fashion.) I am sure many others are as uneducated on matters as i am

Dan

It can't be too big a secret, Mal dawson cited the newsletter which obviously he has, (Mal is not on the committee).

Brian,

do we know the queensland greyhound ownership equity in Albion Park, and the entitlement to sell such equity with or without the consent of the other owners?

What is it that is stopping those in power from finding out these things to start with.
Brian i agree with your statement about getting quotes when you have found the land u want.Is that the problem? Is there conflict about the land mentioned that is stalling the process?

A. 3.4 to 10m thats a hell of a lot of leeway. Bandied from where? Or do you mean rumoured?

B. Can you tell us where you obtained that figure of $40,000 .pa. for the upkeep of the gas monitoring outlets?

C. I think you know that is true.

D. You know that is true.

E. It has been well published the Watpac estimate was for $43m

Mike,

Sue posted a thread which confirmed the ownership arrangements. I doubt you can sell anything without consent from other stakeholders.

Brian,

I don't think there are any agenda's with the Logan site other than, due processes with the public purse take time. The logan proposition is still being investigated and due diligence maybe starting to show it may not be the best situation for us. IMO

I am not the spokesperson for the committee, but, i really want to conduit information to all, the committee was formed because participants (which includes the committee)felt information was not forthcoming from the GRA etc, so it is kind of ironic to hear people suggest we the committee are keeping participants in the dark and secret business etc.

I am sure these posts will be noted for our next meeting.

Brian if the figures you have quoted are fact, surely you can tell us where you got them from?

As I said before this is the problem in Queensland, everything is rumoured, we are not told facts.
