Gee...It's a great time to be a greyhound owner/breeder/trainer in this State of QUEENSLAND....NOT.

In the last week & a bit, there hasn't been one "Best 8" race over 520m south of the gateway bridge (Albion/Ipswich).

600m races are just about non-existent & 710m races are like trying to find rocking horse sh1t.

It won't be long before they'll be utilizing the 710m distance for 280m race starts again, just to blow the cobwebs out of them, like they once did 20 years ago.

When you really take a good look at greyhound racing in this state, 75% of races (probably more) are run over the 331m, 380m, 395m, 410m, 431m & 460m.....so WHY would you even consider breeding a litter here, especially if these distances are the only available options once your greyhound advances past 4th Grade over 520m.

For those that do want to breed on you may as well revert to breeding 400m squibs that can avoid the collisions & carnage at box rise on these hell-hole corner starts. They are nothing more than a lucky drip at box rise with welfare issues, a word which I thought was majorly highlight in the 2015 MacSporran report ---> EXTERNAL LINK

Most good breeders aim to bred nothing but 520m greyhound but our regulators have forced the industry in this state, into a corner by not supplying the industry with a MUCH NEEDED, PROMISED REPLACEMENT, One Turn Track....when they took Parklands off us, which was probably one of the most safest tracks in Australia at the time.

Maybe if we start calling this One Turn Track, a "Horseshoe Track" we might be able to trick the ba$t@rds into ticking the box with an oversight because that seems our only hope.

After 8 years, we're still waiting for this HORSESHOE TRACK which both the Libs & Lab parties have continue to promise, promise & promise, whenever an election is nigh.

Well to tell you the truth....I'm sick of these bl00dy shitty corner starts & I'm sick to death of the bl00dy PROMISES & LIES.

The pledged these parties have displayed over the past decade reminds me of the people, my beloved mother (god bless her soul) told me to avoid.

And to think I have supported these groups all my life & have even looked up to them as elite figures in our community.

What a bunch of fools we have been.

I'm P!$$3d & I hope every over GREYHOUND ENTHUSIAST in this State is as P1$$3d as I am.

They don't understand for one minute WHY a HORSESHOE TRACK is so important to the industry & they obviously DON'T GIVE A SH1T.

Why are we still waiting in limbo after 8 fcuking years?????

Why was the last greyhound track in Qld built in 1993...Yes thats right. Nearly 25 punking years ago.

What the hell is going on???

No problem Stevo, either the ALP or LNP will promise another track leading up to the next election and all participants will blow the sand out of their noses shouting for joy.

We have been lied too.

We have been RIPPED OFF ($10,000,000 in compensation).

& it doesn't matter what the government decides to do with this industry now...AS ITS probably to fcuk1ng LATE.

Fair dinkum. I've had it with those I've put my faith in over the years.

IMO, we've got nothing to loose if we vote for the red head or similar. We stand a better chance of surviving with them then the current bunch of phonies, that have displayed a track record of simply sitting on their hands.

I am sure you spelt a lot of those words wrong

Theres are some. Cccc you missed and some uuu you missed some kkkk you missed even some fffff you missed.

Lol

I'm sure everyone in Queensland agrees with you Steve. Laughable state of affairs here and getting worse. Sick to death of election promises and RQ's palaver. Think about it - one 400m distance in SE Qld and that's 431m jumping on to a bend at Ipswich. We're well and truly screwed over and over again. Bend starts and welfare - well we don't fare very well at all do we.

In the last week 3 different people have mentioned to me that they'll be done within the next 12 months. No more breeding for them, they'll just race what they have then pack up.....

I only moved up to SE Qld 2 years back hoping for a lifestyle change and to be part of an industry that was strong and vibrant. The Logan track was due to be started, the prizemoney was great etc etc but since that ABC show and the subsequent inquiry nothing positive is happening.

The authorities and government seem to be 'against us' and nothing is easy. Other states seem to value working together.....including NSW which I hear has some very positive news to soon announce.

Up here in Qld. what have we to look forward to....more stalling tactics on a new track ???

You Qld's need to screw them down Kev! What sites? check local councils for DA's or site future usage etc. Have a Petition drawn up and distributed to every track in Qld. Signed and delivered to Parliament before the election stating total dissatisfaction from Thousands of Angry participants, with Media coverage! Who do Labour actually support now?

Terry. The Logan track went thru and was approved by Labor State parliament then Grace Grace cancelled it. Even their written word is a sham. We haven't been compensated for Parklands nor for Cronulla Park. We lost $2million creating Racing Qld - these "honourable' (puke) people are above the law. and you ask 'who do Labour actually support now' it always was themselves and the Libs are just as bad.

That was my point Wilma, If Labour wishes you to support them! DO SOMETHING POSITIVE. Now!, Not hollow promises, show the Participants something Concrete. A Future after disastrous decisions by past Labour, Liberals Govt's. They AGAIN need to be reminded. The Racing QLD Portfolio is a laughing stock to the rest of Australia. JUST ENQUIRE

Not to the thoroughbred and harness codes ,both with mickey mouse breeding schemes and increased prize money out of greyhounds market share.

Enquire what? Why has it taken 8 years and still no track to replace Parklands. They tell us they have a 5 year plan. I guess that means we may see something constructed in 13 years time.

Premier to call Nov 25 election, Bundy a key seat

After months of speculation, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will call a snap election for November 25 and Bundaberg is set to play a crucial role in the outcome.

------------------------------------------------------------

Well she won't be getting my Bundaberg vote after the ignorance shown by her party toward the greyhound industry, over the last 8 PLUS years.

Since the Labour amalgamation conspiracy in June 2008,both Labour and the LNP have never looked like replacing our one turn track or the FOL both severely damageing to greyhound welfare while the continued discrimination continues regards market share prize money and NO breeding scheme, neither should be supported by greyhound stakeholders, so there's NOTHING to lose by backing One Nation.

Hi Kev.

ALL of the greyhound associations in this state will have achieved dilly squat if we don't get some answer IMMEDIATELY. They now have the opportunity to show us what their made.

If it's true & a snap election is called, Steve Lennon (& the leaders from other associations..if they still existed) need to get in writing what EITHER of the LIBS or LAB parties can offer the industry in the way of the PROMISED GREYHOUND TRACK.

We have been waiting to long & the lies & deceit have to stop NOW....& I mean right bl00dy now.

We need IN WRITING where the track will be placed.

We need in writing a date of when work will commence.

We need in writing a date of when the work will be finished.

No pussy footing around. We need all the answers this week.

If we don't get any answers from these parties then THESE associations in this state need to call an urgent meeting at all GREYHOUND racing tracks across Qld and advise all participants to place a PROTEST VOTE at the coming election, what's if they want the sport they love to exist to the future, WITHIN THIS STATE.

It's make or break.

We need to no what support ONE NATION has for the industry, as Former premier Campbell Newman has declared he believes LNP Leader Tim Nicholls can only win with the help of One Nation.

Stevo now is the time to get onto One Nation for those answers you seek. Steve Dickson has had his involvement with the racing industry and he could hold the balance of power following Nov 25th election. Whether you love or hate Pauline, she has stood up to those in government who have been raping this country. Whether you like or dislike Dickson, he has been there and he also knows exactly what has occurred to the greyhound industry. There are only 4 sitting members that will receive One nation support and don't think Nicholls is one of them. Everyone needs to email One Nation (including you Kev) give them your story and the support will come. Don't ever believe the LNP, Alp or Greens as they have continually failed and will continue to bring you all down.
