Victoria has now had 6 very successful Geelong meetings with the FOL,is it any wonder they are the leading greyhound state,they are also introducing a breeding incentive scheme,but then they don't have a useless greyhound advisory committee stagnating their industry.

In June this year Grace Grace announced funding to the total of $ 235 000 for Bundaberg greyhound club .
Does anyone know when the track upgrades are going to commence ?

The discrimination continues Bundaberg should have had 52 meetings and full TAB coverage long ago. the thoroughbreds are petrified of greyhounds increasing their market share even though they and the harness code would share the spoils.

And the ABC story which is referred to in the Harness Racing thread where it states that the poor souls don't know what is happening next to owners, drivers, trainers, etc. comments made by David Fowler. Well,Mr. Fowler if they haven't done anything wrong then they have nothing to worry about, do they??? Then of course there is the usual statement about LB and QRIC as well as the statement that for the first time greyhound betting exceeds harness racing. Does that include the time before the 3 code agreement on funding where the harness racing had a helping hand from ONE gambler to bring the harness code above the greys, then when the funds were decided, back went the harness gambling figures to where they were before....woeful.
I would expect to see quite a few more well known names charged, but this has been going on since April???? One person gets life, another gets 12 months, race fixing should mean life. The politics involved in nailing the greyhounds and looking after thoroughbreds plus harness with greyhound finance starts at the very top and filters down from there. And it was the government who put in the very people who failed the industry in Qld and NSW, and were paid handsomely for their pathetic managerial efforts.
It is infuriating to see the harness code given $1,000,000 for a breeders scheme (which seems to be basically one or two breeders in Qld) and the greyhounds having to beg for any crumb which comes available and I really object to having to pay for "whining Gerry's" Magic Millions. What could the g/h code here in Qld do with the money he is getting??? Mr. Forbes.....get off your backside, stop mouthing platitudes, clean up the thoroughbreds and the harness racing, including those that pay the little boys to cheat (though they are very cheap to rent) and stop bloody lying about our two tracks. We either have them signed, sealed and ready to work on or they don't even have a contract signed and for once treat the greyhound participants with a bit of courtesy, you might be surprised how far that courtesy and truth will go. Oh yes, and do let QGBOTA know where our $10,000,000 is!!!

According to my records for the five years between 2010 and 2014, turnover on greyhound racing in Queensland exceeded harness racing for each of the years by 33-56%, with an total turnover 45% higher. So, yeah, I don't know where the statement that it's the first time turnover from greyhound racing exceeds harness racing comes from.

No 1. Legally we should not be part of Racing Queensland. They never fulfilled their contract of building the greyhound tracks. This promise was the main reason the GRA signed the amalgamation. After the agreement had been signed for Greyhounds to join RQ, Bentley changed the agreement and it has been financially down hill ever since. It was the previous Labor govt who were in power at the time Is this new Labor Govt going to honour the stuff ups now that Ludwig and Bentley are gone? No 2. With this alleged race fixing,(cheating the $2 punters) paying Magic Millions $5million a year! why?) obviously RQ is incapable of managing 3 codes. "It is confidential" is not good enough We should be allowed to withdraw from RQ and return to our own Greyhound management (GRA) with all our assets. 10million included!

And THEN along came Racing Qld interim CEO,KPMGs Ian Hall to rescue the red hots with a 28 percent cut to greyhound prize money which Eliot Forbes and Racing QLD has NOT restored,Dale Cartwright is a liability to greyhound stakeholders,NO market share or breeding scheme in sight,the discrimination continues.

Thank you Wilma and others for filling in the gaps in greyhound history here in Qld. It helps to know what transpired through the past few decades and helps to determine the 'rights' and 'wrongs' of Albion Park, etc.
This website has had over 1,750,000 comments, suggestions, but out of all these messages no one person has stood up to take on the powers that be after nearly 3 years. QBOTBA now has a strong committee who is trying hard to fix the myriad of issues our industry has, but where to start?? Now is probably the time for the greyhound people to fight back for what is rightfully theirs. New minister, the harness industry and its leaders being shown for what they are in the media and questions about the thoroughbred clubs and tracks. So many participants have the same thoughts about the g/h industry and what is happening, they can't all be wrong. We have strong, clever, committed people in the industry, bring them together and support them all the way.
