Just speaking to one of Qlds most successful trainers tonight....he isn't at all impressed with the new no catching pen finish on.
In fact he has given Qld away.

"What are we left with 400 bend starts or 500 maidens...all 500 dogs eh...joke no one turner".
"Wont start another dog at Albion Park without the catching pen"
"Buggered Julies dog for sure"

If we are talking about Reg Kay and Size Can Matter, can I ask this question and in NO way am I being a smart ass,I am genuinely asking a question. Is there a huge difference between the NZ lure to the QLD style lure at all as it seemed OK for REG and Size Can Matter when he won the Platinum Paws in NZ but he seems to have an issue with it here.Am I missunderstanding something?

I have heard Labor are still in office, shame if thats the case.
I have also heard that many against Cronulla Park are joining QGOBTA, as being the only recognised body to strengthen the participants imput. But then thats only trial track talk.

Its better then nothing...............But
Woopy f%#ken do.
All we want is to get out of Albion and get our own identity.
Are they willing to help out in that area????????............Stevo.

That $500,000 would only just cover what GQL have already spent on Cronulla Park. And after speaking to some prominent trainers, they are not real bothered where the track is built, they are all willing to travel to race. Toowoomba are putting in a new trotting track, while after investigating the costs of getting the greyhound track up and running ($600,000), are saying we need to know now so they can accomodate. $600,000 wouldve been a better option then to blow near that on a complex that is pushed by GQL and their few followers.

Dan the new influx of members at the GBOTA are the newly formed Gold Coast Committee and their families, they weren't members before but realized that if they had a majority on the GBOTA it would give them a voice. Unfortunately it looks like the GBOTA committee have been bought by 20-30 new members and subsequently held a meeting in conjunction with them at Capalaba today. Mind you the new influx has doubled the membership at the GBOTA, if only the Watchdog Group had've thought of that, maybe it's not too late.....now wouldn't that be a dilemna for the GBOTA, what if the Watchdog Group promise 50 new members, will they go with them? Any advance on 50 Dan, maybe 60 new members will get the GBOTA to do another turnaround and push for a track at Toowoomba. :-O

The usual meetings involved the typical whinge, Danny Ryan this, D.Ryan that. I drew box 5 and 4 etc. Maybe now they might get down to business.

Not a lot to watch over.
We were going to get a reply after a watchdog meeting a couple of months back.
Nothing heard since.

Now that Labour are back in and the current board are to continue we should be due for an update on that state of the industry and the direction it is headed.
