Sinking, swimming or treading water?

That's exactly the response that I was fishing for Michael because, I too have continued to breed with the same hope as you.
That is, things change to the extent that our decision gets justified

& yet you've stated on another thread that you'll continue to breed Michael
Perhaps you envisage a turnaround in the future... ?

Hi Patrick,
I take it you see some contradiction?

I am continuing to breed, I intend to breed a few more than I have in the past and I'm hoping that pays off.
There are only two options for me = 1. Breed and stay in and hope like hell things improve or at least survive. 2. Stop breeding and get out!
You see, Patrick, I, like most, don't have my phone ringing out of its cover with people begging me to take their super fast dogs, so what I breed basically gives me the only opportunity to keep going.

My comment of "a mm" I reckon is a fair assessment of where it is atm.
It would take an idiot to say it is all rosey and bright as a button.
Where there is a mm, there is hope.
Were there not a mm, we'd all be GONE!

Some have had enough, some for reasons of their own can't go on, some are waiting in the wings, and some, Patrick, dare to have a go and hope for the best.
You pick which one you want.
I've picked the last one...time will tell if I'm a lunatic or not.

Where do you think we are in the scheme of things and what are your plans from a breeding perspective?

P.S. Aside from all of the above, for the first time ever I have 3 bitches whom I have a huge opinion of and confident they will produce the goods...so I'm bloody well GOING FOR IT, Patrick!

Good on you too, Patrick.
Let's hope our decisions are justified, because if they aren't, I'll share a jelly, dirt, and lemon sandwich with you in the looney bin.

About a mm from the bottom.

With the loss of many hundreds of greyhounds that couldn't handle the tight 2 turn tracks for the past 10 years, and NO one turn track for 2019,greyhounds will continue to subsidise thoroughbred infrastructure until eternity,to the detriment of greyhound greyhound welfare.

Here's hoping there's some good news shortly... possibly starting with an announcement concerning an extra "TAB" meeting in Qld weekly ... and maybe even a glimmer of hope for another to hopefully be able to be added in 2019.

It could be some long-awaited, tangible "proof" that things might finally be moving back in the DESIRED, forward direction, if (hopefully, when?) it comes off!

The ABC are at it again in Qld.

Obviously, it's all quiet on the north-eastern front & have to scrape the bottom of the barrel again ---> EXTERNAL LINK
In one sentence Mr Neal said he questioned the reliability of OZ CHASE...but the headline at the start states "Greyhounds still killed in the hundreds".

TALK ABOUT SH1TT1NG IN YOUR OWN NEST.

And when a Greyhound "DIES", they always use the word "KILLED".

I lost a pup at birth this year after 36 hours. Does that mean I KILLED it TOO???

F@#k1ng scaremongers. Get a life.

Steve, the try hards at Animals Liberation Queensland were well and truly shafted today, congratulations to the Capalaba Greyhound Club on the success of their inauguaral TAB meeting a massive crowd turned up,certainly an eye opener for the Racing Minister.now the stolen Parklands one turn track is all that's missing.

With Cairns no longer propping up the gallops, the advisory group need to get their finger out and lobby for TAB at Bundaberg and the replacement for Parklands 10 years or they are still waiting for greyhound welfare to further deteriorate.don't blame Scott it's our useless advisory panel.

Licence requirement is now a farce.
1. Appoint mentors at clubs
2. Give new participants a workbook
3. Develop a comprehensive online knowledge bank for consultation.
4. Finish book, pass kennel inspection get licence.

The biggest farce is the Advisory Group of self appointed Racing Qld stooges, they are doing SFA about the 2008 replacement of the Parklands one turn track doing untold damage to greyhound welfare.QLD Stakeholders are being treated like mushrooms with no consultation whatsoever.

lobby for TAB at Bundaberg

Don't mean to be negative Kev but if it hasn't happened by now....it will probably never happen.

Bundaberg is still a "Country" classed meeting with "Country" class prizemoney....but can still outperform TAB clubs with field quality, even though they are severely penalized in regards to annual race meeting which are capped at (think) 35 (or less). Imagine how strong Bundaberg club could become (again) if they were given the opportunity to go TAB with 50+ race meetings per year like yesteryear.
The club deserves better.

Rockhampton has been struggling all year (through no fault of their own thx to the overbreeding scaremongering) & now look to be shadowing the now-defunct Cairns club of recent years. Fields have shrunken to just 5 runners ---> EXTERNAL LINK
Please send your dog north.

They will always control you while you allow it, time to leave the leads and muzzles on the wall for a week and see how they respond with no fields.
