I see Albion park has also been earmarked as a potential stadium location for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games bid.

So they get rid of Ipswich, they get rid of Albion pk, So we sill are going to have only 2 proper tracks.what happened to the Gold Coast track. Did we just gift that one to them.looks like the old slide of hand trick. Ok a horseshoe track that's great, and a 2 turn track and 2 straight tracks. It still is only 2 TRACKS.

Michael Last Fridays Courier Mail Page 5 the sub article written by Peter Gleeson states that the Governor Paul de Jersey signed off on the project at 1 pm the day before. Hope you found that in your searches. Sorry about your promised pet elephant but Mothers are invariably right which says you never stopped being naughty.

This labour government are a joke, after 11 years of neglecting greyhound welfare and Yamanto mooted as their preferred site since 2017 ,they now are neglecting greyhound welfare for another 4 years.if they are serious about greyhound welfare, they should be consulting with greyhound stakeholders on track infrastructure immediately and bringing construction forward a couple of years, after all thoroughbred infrastructure has had over $100,000 outlayed at the Sunshine Coast,Toowoomba (two tracks),Townsville,Gold Coast,Beaudesert and Eagle Farm since 2010.

Thanks for that, Ron...good to know.
I still for some strange reason find it hard to trust politicians...don't know why.
Hate to be negative and hope like hell this is delivered, BUT...it still doesn't mean its across the line.
What if the Ipswich council have problems with it?
What if the ground testing isn't up to scratch?
What if Libs win next election and can Yamanto and spend another 3 years dilly dallying finding another site and another election rolls on...etc, etc.
All just like it has done for well over a decade.

When the pineapple state changes that title I'll believe in politicians.

Also strange is the Governors signing off on this? not even near his role in government. But of course they all know Governors do not do this sort of thing so something very strange going on.

Well it is almost 6 months since the Governor Paul de Jersey announced Yamanto. (Oct 2019)

The virus has hit, but, with working from home and all that commute time saved, design and development should be well underway. The Prime Minister has spoken, he wants people back at work!

We, Greys, have been patient in waiting for our share of
Queensland Racing Infrastructure Funding and will assiduously follow the building of this track.

I have to agree with you there Ricki.

We've been waiting 11 years since Parklands was stolen from us. Now we haven't got a hope in hell.

That's why `we' need political persuasion to help our cause. A few SFF Party candidates or others at the State level would be a start. To a minor degree, it's helped in NSW. However, they don't hold the balance of power in the Senate.

Well this 'broke' State government had the Premier of Qld announcing an increase in salary to the Bureaucrats, who already receive an obscene salary, when the China virus hit and she had to back off.

Yes we do make a profit and we employ people also.

Also the Qld Racing Infrastructure Fund is money from wagering.
Quite separate: The $10million is for exiting Parklands.

Why does the works start in 2023 why so long you would think it would be able to start within a year , I hope it all works out for everyone.

Votes Gillian. There's an election this year. Might be another election in 2023. See how they play the game. Piss'em off. If they were fair dinkum the poles would be in tomorrow.

The answer is Gillian...it's Qld!
Its the way it works here.
Its the way its worked since the promise was first made some 11 years ago.
Qld is unique...predictably unpredictable.
A certain flavour of pineapple to it, Gillian, if you know what I mean.

With the state coming out of Covid lock down and needing a job kick start,
should make infrastructure projects like Yamanto a priority.

Its time to let go of the infrastructure funding purse strings and get the state moving.
