Hi Geoff. Why would that bitches "Breeding Status" on FASTTRACK be highlighted "Inactive", when she's only had 1 litter and has just turned 4 yrs?

Either that or an error.

Will be interesting to see how the double of ELUSIVE REBEL goes. They're ideally position in "x". One from a male, one Female.

Go Wild Teddy will add the vigor.

Good luck with the litter.

We and the other owners of the pups in the litter of Barcia Bale X Destini Gold (whose grand-dam is USA import Greys Destiny*) whelped 13.06.16 are more than happy with the breakins and early pre-training.

CLICK HERE

So, we had no hesitation in going to Barcia Bale again with Destiny Shaker, a daughter of Greys Destiny*. One step closer. Litter whelped 20.06.17

Barcia Bale has been an incredible producer and certainly knicks with the USA blood.

Stud Fee increase by 25% to $5,500 - some might say that the industry has been extremely good to all connections & when breeding is on its knees they cannot reciprocate. wtf

He's definitely been the standout at stud this year and seems to have thrown a serious X factor into his offspring in so many ways, strength, speed, chase etc but hard to justify a 25% price rise in this climate

Hi Hayden.

During the year of 2015 a total of 2324 litters were registered. 219 of those litters were sired by Barcia Bale or 9.42%. So I guess that explains why he's a standout due to the dominance of numbers on the ground.

But it gets better.
So far in 2017 (mid Aug), 921 litters have been registered and 133 are sired by Barcia Bale. That's 14.44% or 1 in every 7, so the word "Standout" will change to "Supersire" in 2019/20 through sheer volume numbers.

It's like going ten-pin-bowling & throwing 2 balls at once. You can't lose.

steve- I see you had a kiora sweet tre straw down at $2800 in a bid to sell. Only half the sire that Barcia bale is?

the litter numbers speak for them selves - one would expect that connections are doing nicely at the current price. Is there a need to squeeze every last drop out of the industry?

I'm only selling as IMO there's no future for greyhounds in the State (QLD) I currently abode in. Very disappointing.

Barcia is currently in demand according to the figures I've supplied and there's only so many vials the studmaster can sell per year, due to the "52 capped serves per 1/4", 208 per year.

Now there's 3 ways the studmaster & owner(s) can go.
1. Sell more breeding units by decreasing his stud fee, which will put a strain on demands.
2. Keep Barcia at his current price which already can't keep up with demands.
3. Raise his stud fee to slow down his demand, which will help preserve his fertility & guarantee a future for generations to come.

All though I can understand your point....at this stage of his career in accordance with his success at stud, I don't think squeezing very last drop out of the industry is relevant.

Barcia has earned his stripes & he ain't getting any younger.

A fair bit of contradiction in that response steve. Certainly much more of that than consideration given to an industry in decline by owners and or studmasters

breeding numbers down around 66% australia wide .

prize money stagnant

breakin prices up around 50%

rearing prices around $60.00 a week

whelping at around $4000

pretraining at $120.00 a week

pups hard to sell ,

the stud game is the most resilient i have ever seen , even with a 66% decline a lot of sires have had price increases ,

who are the mugs in this industry ?

to me its the breeder , money up front , everything to loose , its time breeders had a series look at them shelves,

paying $5 gran for a local sire

Only if you decide to interpret that way Hayden.

The only other reason (which I should have stated) why I said your point is not relevant in this situation is because there's plenty of other cheaper proven & unproven fish in the sea to choose from, like KST lol.
