I feed any type of meat...as long as it is fresh and you give them plenty of it, they should thrive. Nothing wrong with a bit of good quality chicken mixed with their red meats.

Can anybody tell us of some wholesalers of good quality chicken mince?, seems funny to be asking that when i farm upto 250,000 chooks here at any one time but the company i grow for are asking $2 a kg and it doesnt cost me that for quality red meat.

burns p/f (sydney) at $1 per kg, you have 2 choices .75 for the frames etc minced or $1 for higher quality actual chicken minced, we grab the same kg of beef/horse and mix it...

WOW...$1 per kilo. I prefer to buy the frames so you know exactly what is in the mince but 75c a kilo??? no chance. I pay $4 for 10 kilo bags which usually weigh around 32 pounds which is 14.5 kg which makes the price about 28c a kilo. I prefer to mince my own as sometimes there is a need to get rid of leg bones if the butcher is preparing schnitzels and I don't want them in my mince.

Knowing a good butcher is the key with chicken frames, most butchers cut up the chicken to suit their clients and they are left with the frames and necks, just find one that is willing to mince up those left over frames and necks, there is usually a fair bit of meat still on them anyway, agree a deal and your set.
Here in the UK you can reckon to pay about 25 pence a kilo approx.

No probs. that's the common theme with this constant discussion. Everyone has their own way of doing things. There's no one specific way to care for your dogs and if your method works and you get results, why change? You are right Rob but you can't rear on Chicken alone . It must be mixed with red meat.

I would probably use a 75/25 mix here on average.
The other thing that I am lucky is that I get some top quality chicken....plenty of meat, flesh etc on the chicken.... into the mincer and comes out beautiful with whatever other meats I am using at the time.
The dogs all look okay on it, which is the main thing.

Lance, yes you can. Rod Deakin, as I keep saying, raised all his pups on just chicken, no other meat. He used some additives, but no other meat.
