I think is possibly the smartest thing to happen for NSW racing in some time. You cannot say that this is a disadvantage to any NSW participant. Greyhound racing is basically borderless and this could only help the industry as a whole.
Let's hope that we see it happen sooner rather than later.
Let's hope everyone gets on board and supports it.

it could defiantly end up a win-win situation.... We all know Qld has suffered from a lack of TAB tracks in recent years & with the amount of dogs on the Northern Rivers it makes perfect sense to let RQL take over.

Naturally, we broke the news first ... out of Qld.
I figured that it may has well been like State of Origin, when as you NSW-folks well know, we always get a win ;-)

Gotta agree with your opinion Gavin...Its NOT a bad idea but IMO it won't benefit most Queensland Trainers as it's in the opposite direction of where most live. For example, it would be like closing the doors on the Richmond track in NSW, and making all those trainers in the Londonderry area race at Dapto.
Queensland's main concern is the promised 10 million compensation and a new track central to where 80% of greyhound trainers are west of Brisbane.....Where ever that maybe....So I hope this is not another diversion.

I think it's an excellent idea.
If Racing Qld put some money in also to upgrading the facilities and turning the track into loam, it would be of great benefit for the industry in SE Qld, but also Nthrn Rivers participants.
They could have this up and running within 12-16 weeks.

Did someone mention the State of Origin, and Queensland? it appears the state is getting bigger.

Good point Steve but if this can happen then sooner rather than later it has to be good. Having the track on offer and as a option has to be a benefit to all.
Hey Wad.....maybe we can host a "State of Origin" race there every year?

" Brent Hogan."......... This man is EASILY, the smartest, and most passionate administrator in any code of Racing, at the moment and anybody who thinks differently needs to read more between the lines, and delve a little deeper.
My only fear is that he leaves before being able to bring it all together ! [Pure Genius].

just a question, what happens to the blue paws nominated dogs that may be racing there? Take it they wont get the bonuses racing there anymore if this goes through.
Not being negative or anything, any new investment in greyhounds in any state id back 1000%

Win...Win...Win...Win...Win...Win...Win.
The track phone number has a Qld area code so this just may have been destiny.
But seriously the couple of minor negatives suggested thus far are mere drops in a sea of positive and should not even raise a ripple into stopping the proposed project.
I think it is already fairly well known that Blue Paws opportunities on country tracks are limited anyway and would be more than compensated by opportunity to earn additional prizemoney at the extra race meetings.
Likewise NSW based participants in the area would now be able to make use of the Qld grading system in the same way as the Qlders have been able to in winning races in Qld then venturing to the Northern Rivers TAB tracks to recommence racing in 5th grades.
As for a suggested diversion then once again travel has not stopped Qld trainers in the past travelling to the Northern Rivers TAB tracks (as they are entitled to) so why wouldn't they then travel to a state of the art purpose built facility with a loam track on the Tweed.
I hope people in Qld don't howl down this proposal because it isn't in their back yard. This on top of the Ipswich proposal is a massive boost for all participants in Northern NSW and Southern Qld.

Tonight on the Gold Coast local news they featured a story about this and low and behold the antis are already opposing it, the woman they interviewed represented a group which is against greyhound racing called the "Friends of the Hounds".
