Well Australian cricket has really hit the bottom of the barrel !!!
I cannot believe that an Australian CAPTAIN (Smith) and his cohorts which would include the vice Captain (Warner), would stoop to such low level CHEATING!
This makes the underarm bowling incident look like a game of trivial pursuit, after all, that incident was LEGAL even though morally wrong in the extreme.
This matter surely cant be swept under the carpet with slaps on the wrist, the poor scapegoat was the 8 match newbie, Cameron Bancroft, which in itself was a gutless and heartless decision by the team leaders, lets just hope that the coach was not in on this disgrace....surely not!,,
Smith, Warner and whoever else sanctioned, approved and stood by this disgraceful plan, should be stood down and banned for a term determined by the governing body of cricket.
All I can say is...there is way too much money in sport! Drugs and cheating is rife throughout the whole gammit. From swimming & cycling right up to the Olympic Games and racing...is there one sport left in this world that retains its honesty and integrity...I doubt it!!!

Such a bad decision by Smith & co. School yard stuff. To rope young Bancroft in , effectively ruining his career is just an act of a person with little to no integrity.
He has to be sacked, hes embarrassed all of us as proud australians

Aus cricket CEO James Sutherland is speaking at 12pm on channel 500
I'm not naming people before all the facts are known, but whoever's deemed guilty(including accomplices), need to get a 2yr ban minimum.
What an absolute disgrace !

By the way, on a not so serious note... Where is TOR, he currently plays cricket, I would like his opinion on this matter... and I bet that he wouldnt deliberately tamper with his balls! (lol)

But they set a precedent , you can get away with most things, they just took it a bit too far...

The mighty "Baggy Green" to which we all aspired to win, has been denigrated beyond repair. We have always prided ourselves on our sportsmanship, and our tenacity in defence of our teams. but this low act relegates us to the bottom rung of a single rung ladder. As a faithful fan, and a loving former player of this great game, I am in total despair.

Cmon , we're not the first and won't be the last to cheat...

Unfortunately, the TV video replays show this cheating incident in the fullest and worst case scenario. It is very apparent that Darren Lehman had a very dubious look on his face (bordering on guilty to me) when he grabbed a walkie ttalkie and sent a smirking 12th man out to let Bancroft know that he had been caught out on camera.
Sadly, this matter has some very very serious outcomes ahead involving much more than Bancroft, Smith & Warner

But Mal, none so blatantly planned and obvious or as serious as this one is...sure, you can even go back to the body line series of the 30s but again that was LEGAL until the rules were changed to address it.
This one is decidedly different and the repercussions that follow this act of stupidity will be shocking and horrific for Australian cricket for years to come, we may never live this absolute disgrace down and will accused for years into the future, and rightly so!

That's the stupid part about it, 44 different camera angles and they thought they would get away with it...

Totally agree Ray (Taken some HEAT off Klein ha ha ) The SENIOR Group. (Smith, Warner, Lyon, & Co) must cop heavy Penalties!! Secondly: The A/C/B must take some serious heat also! Smith, Warner, Lyon, Hazelwood etc Look emotionally drained and exhausted. Cant keep playing these players all year round. Wake Up. Thirdly If serious call of the last Test on the grounds of players welfare. Fourth: And Lastly SACK THE AUSSIE BOARD! Sutherland has proved over many years he is incompetent, only survived on BULLYING. The Rest have hung on to his apron strings. You know who the are!

Much, much lower than that Ryan, we will be in the cricket game of lowly cheats forever now. I myself thought the underarm delivery was not what Australian sport was all about. whatever happened to the great Australian "Have a go" attitude, if world sport needs to be played on this level, then it's a level I refuse to adheed to.

Me too Ron!
Ryan, the underarm incident whilst not a good look was totally LEGAL at the time and within the rules of cricket...it was outlawed afterwards when all the furore broke out and continued on.

Does anybody know what grade of sandpaper they used as I fear as Bancfroft's own cods may of ended up getting severally grazed if it was a No. 40. Australia's not the first to do it but the first to be stupid enough to get caught, don't the idiots realise the game is so boring at times the cameramen and producers are watching for these things every time the ball is returned to the bowler, you can't even pick your nose in peace anymore. Heads will roll on this one and they should. - Macwollie

With so many cameras dumb to think they would get away with it. Smith needs to resign as captain. New leadership group. Bit like the Bombers saga this will set back Ausdie cricket for some years. Interesting to see what the penalties will be, as well as the team structure moving forward.

The penalties will have to come from Australian cricket admin as The ICC is as weak as...the grade of penalty for ball tampering warrants only a 2 match suspension for Cameron Bancroft, lets see if Sutherland and his associates have any balls?!
