To all the peoples of this world, as another year unfurls
May God in His wisdom, turn this child's misery into pearls
No matter what your colour, nationality or faith or creed
If only man could stop the sowing of war's most deadly seed
Then earths beauty would nurture peace, instead of much greed

My thoughts may only be a much disillusioned impossible dream
But the world is for children to enjoy, without the screams
In all of us there beats a loving heart, at the very start
Instead it can become so twisted, and can no longer impart
All that it had promised, before falling into the devil's cart

What is the answer, I hear many of you suggest, and often say
The world is too large, and without a conscience in it's way
Maybe if we stopped to reflect, say on a certain Christmas day
A momentary warmth would embrace you, and linger on to stay
And spread across the Heavens, with Santa's help on his way.

So, from me, to all the people everywhere in this world, may
you derive some happiness from the troubles that unfurl.

Thanks Ron, quite poignant for me at the moment

For me, 2019 has not been the greatest of years
But smiles and happiness still manage to override the tears.

Thanks Tor, I'm travelling pretty well touch wood, but my wife's not doing well at all.

My major concern at the moment is, our daughter with a 1 & 3 year old is going into hospital in 5 days time for a serious operation (colon cancer).
Hopefully it's successful and she gets a good report...one can only hope for the best, but, her spirit is high and that's a positive.

Countless thoughts and prayers go out to you and family Ray
May our silence not be unheard in a most kindly gentle way
As you scale another mountain so stoicly over these many days
As an Australian, I guess you know what I am trying to say

Kindest regards always mate.

Thank you for those kind thoughts Ron.

We are only one family amongst many going through tough personal times at the moment, like you say, as Australians we are a tough lot and continue to remain positive and accept what life throws up.
I am currently heading home to be with the family and today will be in Mackay with my wife spending a couple of days with my eldest son who lives there, he is a 'cancer survivor' who had his spleen removed nearly 4 years ago and is now fully clear.

In the meantime, I look forward to reading your well written and thoughtful prose...keep it coming mate.

Thanks Tor, I think all or most kids know that they have their parents support, some don't show it, but at heart they do..I am fortunate as.my kids really appreciate us and that's a reward that nothing can ever replace.
