The ARL has got 'no balls', they are cancelling the Anthem for the 'All Stars Game'.

This is in all respects, still an international game and considering the 'Australian' team are indigenous, they should, like NZ, play both anthems, that is the national and the indigenous anthem, (do they have one) or do they still just refuse to accept that we also have a right to this country as most were also born here and have given it a lot and made it what it is today...sure, they did it tough over 250 years ago but an 'invasion', it was not!
They have a right as we have to RESPECT and be treated equally, but to protest about the same right of the majority of Australians, is divisive to the extreme.
I love this country and would love nothing better than to see it come together with our indigenous peoples as indeed it has with almost all of the immigrants that have blessed us with their presence over the years...I am afraid that that appears to be a forlorn hope the way things are progressing.
Perhaps this post is 'out of bounds' according to today's society, if so I apologise, but I guess I am just old fashioned and like nothing better than UNITY.

I for one will be BOYCOTTING this game as my initial protest against anything!

Sport should never be made the instrument of protest. This is purely an
agitation, which translates as stirring.
Continued stirring will achieve nothing but transgressions of harmful
inroads, that lead to the eventual downfall of a great united game.
To portray a continued grievance, that will obviously be protested for
centuries to come, even after a national apology, financial and many
continued added benefits, which recognize aboriginality's plight.
The true shame of it all, is that we the lovers of this great game, love
to watch the superb skills of these gifted athletes, who have proved to
be the best in the game. This is where they should continue to showcase
their cause, not as the invaded, but as victors. Sanity sounds somewhat
like sanitary, let's hope the former prevails.

Jay-Z & Beyonc wldn't stand for the National anthem at the Superbowl either......but apparently they didn't know it was on and were engaged in converstion with each other. Yeah right!

Obviously people are still aggrieved by the state of their nation.....very interesting subject.

I'm not so sure these protests are such a bad thing, if nothing else it makes the polies and others think, and definitely keeps the polies honest.

The score says that the Maori side trounced them, good, that big head Latrell Mitchell needs to be cut down a peg or 2, unfortunately he is now playing for my side the Rabbitohs, he is ego driven and divisive that imho, will not benefit the team.

By the way, any opinions on how he went at fullback last night, he might believe that he is the best thing since sliced bread but another SLATER or TEDESCO he is not!

As a long time South's supporter, I have never felt comfortable with his
attitude or South's signing him. His mentality of "Them & Us" will never
make him a team member, whether it be for his club, State Of Origin or Test Matches. If you wont sing the National Anthem, then your are not a
member of any rep team full stop. Therefore he will never be able to be
as good as he thinks he is! Instead of being a pompous bigot, maybe he
should look to two of the most influential and humble players to ever play this game despite the color barrier, Arthur Beetson and Johnathon Thurston. I don't think I have to say more.
