It's really a matter of, "doing your homework and due diligence prior to making decisions".
It is not the fault of the RFS, the documentation clearly states that that is where funding will go and it is legally bound to do so!

Ray, I accept that, but it's clearly a mistake by the lady and RFS, DOES have some responsibility to advise
they should accept her error, make a decision which helps them,AND all the fire victims

I don't know if they should or not, they have been pleading with the government for a couple of years to upgrade their trucks and equipment as it is outdated and the trucks are not heat proofed for complete fire safety, after not getting no response from the government they set up their own fund to finance it.
The fund was deliberately setup for funding new equipment, to be honest, that comedian Celeste did have good intentions to send the money to fire ravaged victims but it is her lack of diligence that caused the 'error', not an error by the RFS.

As a matter of fact, some of the firies that died may have been spared if they had better more modern equipment....as an aside, in truth, the public should not be funding the RFS to buy and/or update their trucks and equipment, the GOVERNMENT should have funded that....in that respect, you are right, all PUBLIC MONEY should be going to the VICTIMS, everything else should be covered by our taxes, via the government and should have been done without question or hesitation.
