Any of you Australians fancy giving a hom to some Ex Battery Hens.........I have half a dozen myself and get more good quality eggs every day than the dogs and I can cope with.

Love to Yvonne but they would last all of twenty seconds once The Krays (whippets) spotted them, so in the interest of animal safety 'll have to continue to buy the eggs from Wollies.

Two or three hens can be kept happily in a Coop, thats secure from dogs......indeen I myself have plenty of dogs around (both racing and coursing greyhounds)....and we only loose the odd one....and mine are free range around the place.....:)).....the eggs are well worth it.

Still a problem as it's The Krays who are the ones free range at the present, mind you at times I feel like placing them in a coop.
There is a country NSW bloke on this site Graham S who's in that close circle of friends on the Claire Mullane thread, he wants to come down for dinner as they have just imposed a carbon tax on us in Australia so if we can get him into housing a couple of chooks he may save a few shekels and feed himself, mind you he does have a whippet and greyhound roaming free in his back yard as well. No offence intended Yvonne just a bit of joking but some one will take it up with these new taxes being thrust upon us.

No trouble Peter......What does the Carbon Tax entail?

Over here it caused a huge rise in Fuel Prices.

In the main I find if the dog knows he cannot into the cage he will ignore them......however my little terrier is in the process of digging under one coop.

These birds make the most wonderful pets and they surprisingly have the most wonderful characters

The carbon tax, basically it keeps the fat cats in Canberra employed on hughe salaries. They dangled a minor tax break ie rob peter to pay paul type of shit at us, mean while I've gone last weekend to buy a foot long Subway Ham and Salad roll for $7. No it's now $7.45 because the oven used to bake the bread just caused global warming whilst outside were freezing our arses off in one of the coldest winters for a long time(Victoria). Mean while over in the USA pop 310 mil as against our poultry 23 mil you are seen as being lower class to have a clothes line in the back yard nah straight from the washing machine into the clothes dryer. My other sore point is all the factories have closed and moved to Asia the air in Australia has never been cleaner so it's got me fcuked. The opposition said they would abolish the tax so there goes the tax break but I bet a pound to a penny that the foot long subway will stay $7.45 - Paul Keating

Thanks Michael that gem as you kindly labelled it was composed having a cup of coffee and a sticky bun during my morning tea break and I'm a storeman. Pick up the finance pages of the daily paper and you'll find 4 pages of high winded crap that you can't make head or tail of that took 3 journs, 2 sub-editors and the finance editor 4 days to confuse us more still. - Jimmy Olsen and dont call me chief.

You should know your doing the night filling at the f***ing place according to a recent blog on Claire's thread or was that Coles nah IGA Young. Hey what you can do is get yourself some of dem dare chooks, box the eggs and take em to work and any shortfalls you can utilise some of Reg and Mel's barkers eggs, just paint them white.
Sorry Yvonne but this is Graham and we've flushed him out. Pete

Apologies to Graham I've just put my glasses on, was wearing the Groucho fun mask hence Wollies it should have read Woolies as in Woolworhts. While I'm at it back to that global warming bulsh.
Today's paper has a CSIRO report on that The Great Ocean Road will eventually slip into the sea by 2100. The Twelve Apostles are now down to 7 and we've lost Mathew, Mark, Luke and John some time back and recently Paul pissed off too. The bit London Bridge went the same way as the West Gate toppled. Now studying ancient history as one does between dog races at night, wasn't mainland Australia and Tasmania joined as one. Must of been otherwise how on earth did Truganini's for fathers get down to the Apple Isle. The Spirit of Tasmania Ferry wasn't operating some 60000 years ago, they walked presumably as they had plenty of time on their hands no TV in those days. My point is erosion, wear away gradually as described in the Oxford dictionary. Now I don't known how much the report cost officially reported as 100k but there was deep concern about the fete of the Car Parks and Caravan Parks pointing the finger at that old chestnut climate change . Shit for 100K two bulldozers, 6 blokes, and two slabs of cans on a weekend working bee could knock up another car park or two pronto. - Why is it so Professor Julius Sumner Miller. Now I know where I got Cuttenshrubs accent from that bloke as a kid watching him on TV in the 60s' EXTERNAL LINK

Yes Yvonne he has hit the nail on the head with his assumption. I've tried to track it down when it all began. I had a normal childhood upbrining in a large catholic family the usaul, school during the week and Mass on Sundays followed by one of mums roasts for lunch. I did fall off a staircase and suffered concussion as a 5yo. But I blame my brother who went to the UK and Ireland for a year in the early seventies and he brought back these Derrick & Clive tapes. I thought they were starting to influence my life when for no reason I would tell passangers in my car to Get out the Cab followed by you can Get out the f***ing Cab. I have only just rediscovered them as some bloke at work reffered to my dog's breeding as being s..t out of b.....e a track called racing on one of the albums. This event has triggered a relapse where madness takes over and you just don't make any sense anymore. So there you have it in a nutshell so be very brave if you venture to Itunes and buy any of those albums. Graham I hope there are no faux pas's - Wally

Everyone's complaining about the price of electricity bills, but count the gadgets you have today compared to ten years ago......
I'm sick of reading media crap about how badly things are going.
Open your eyes and look for yourself....there's plenty of money being spent at present so it can be too bad!!
I do not mean to sound nasty at all,but there's plenty around the world who can't afford Subway.
We've got it alright, but we always like to imagine we're doing it tough.

Tried his little heart out to lead from box 5 for a bit not quite fit enough due to forced lay off and once he builds his stamina I think we might sneak a race. Post race kicked the cat (hang on we don't own one sorry neighbours) turned telly off, turned telly back on again and replayed the event, throttled nearest whippet and went out with sign to boycott f**king Subway on inflated carbon tax increases so stick that up your bum. - Not happy Jan
The last bit is not directed at you Graham or Scott, it was a coment in passing as I thought it sounded funny.
