We had a dog running in the Kirby Memorial last year and I phoned up to back him Ante Post with Paddy Power as they wouldnt take the bet online ..Ended up taking 1/5 of what I was trying to get on and slashed the odds. Then I looked at the other bookmakers Boylesports ,Ladbrookes etc and the dogs odds had went from 33/1 to 16/1..You here of all these big bets they are taking .I would love to know whos getting them on

Im a great believer that the so called big bookmakers are one of the reasons this great game is going downhill! When they feel like it, they will price up a final/competition and then only lay a ridiculous small bet! i would understand if these were A8 graders, but these dogs are the creme dela creme of irish/English racing. Owners spending large 5/6 figures to buy these dogs and cant get a bet on. Until we all stand up and either contact the firms directly noting will be done about this, because they only want mug punters 5 on A9 races @ Crayford were the betting percentage is 140%+

Couldnt agree more, but my point is, the races these pathetic bookmakers (Paddy Power, Boylesports & Ladbrokes) wont lay a bet in, is top top open races, the races almost price themselves. and still they have no confidence to take a decent bet!

I'm not sure if it's the same as here in Australia......but most of the bookies here are laying things on Betfair for big amounts.
When it comes to actual cash/account bets though they are piss-weak.
It's crazy really.....when you consider the percentages they have to operate at on Betfair to get decent money.....they are actually better off taking the fixed odds bets from account holders!
