Hi Guys, lets get organised. The new tipping completion will begin on 4th February 2017.

Any suggestions are welcomed as to the format. Steve M can you please explain a bit more about your idea. Thanks guys.

Sure Tony.

I'll put my hand up and do the "Scoring" this year...if that's alright with everybody.
I'd like to include all races at Wentworth Park on the Saturday night fields, but only from races 1 to 10 should they decide to include more on any given night.

I'd also like to include points for the top 3 placings - 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

1st = 10 points
2nd = 6 points
3rd = 3 points

I'd also like to suggest some kind of "DOUBLE POINTS" system for every person, to be used once maybe twice a year on a full nights program...at YOUR call of course.

I've just done up a quick program that should be mistake free as long as everybody sticks to the following format which I stress has to be the same every week. For example - "Name" followed by 10 "BOX" numbers, like the following.

Steve Martin 1113334442

Please note this is only a suggestion and my idea can be changed, added-to or simply ignored.

Cheers Steve.

PS.....It's obviously to late to start the comp this week (or possibly next week), but I'm happy to look after the LEADERBOARD if we can decide on which way you'd all like the competition to run....whether it's a simply pick one race, 2 or 3 races or even the full card.

As I suggested before, you guys pick which selection process is best. Either -

No.1. Select a winner from every race (up to 10 races).

No.2. Select one winner from the meeting.

No.3. Select 2 winners from the meeting.

No.4. Select 3 dogs in 1 race and get points if they finish in the top 3 placings. For example if your choices were to finish -

1st, 2nd & 3rd you'd get 10 for a win + 6 for 2nd + 3 for 3rd = 19 points or
1st & 2nd you'd get 10 for a win + 6 for 2nd = 16 points or
1st & 3rd you'd get 10 for a win + 3 for 3rd = 13 points or
2nd & 3rd you'd get 6 for 2nd + 3 for 3rd = 9 points.
Etc etc.
________________________

Just talking out loud...(No.1) picking 10 winners every week maybe to much for some.

I personally like choice No.4.

Any chance of making it a National comp?

Pick 1 winner from any metro meeting Thursday thru Saturday?

Just an idea.
I dont follow Wenty, only Angle Park.

It's a possibility Jamie.

If the interest is there, I'll seriously consider making it to include the following -

Thursday - Albion, Angle & Sandown plus
Saturday - Wentworth, Meadows & Cannington.

But at the moment we only have a handful of contenders and no prizes.

Would be good, and great exposure (for that matter during these tuff times) if we could get a top notch sire or a new up-and-coming-first-year-sire to donate a free serve as prizes to the overall winner(s) of this comp. I'm sure site owner Tony Gallagher would be happy to accommodate such on offer on this site.

No.2 A No Brainer.

The trouble most people have, is being on time with one selection!
Plus Steve Harvey's idea originally was for this. I think people are
prone to. too many grandiose ideas! Don't fix it, if it ain't broke!

I have never played or been in your tipping comp ,so excuse my outside interference,
But what about 1 selection in first 5 races and 1 selection in 2nd 5 races with one of these selections being nominated for a power play .... double points !!
This might seperate the obvious standout on the card with most picking the same standout as you'll see tomorrow night ...... burn one down !
Just a thought , I'd like to play cheers

No 2 with bonus points! ie; 10 points 1st. 6 points 2nd. 3 points 3rd. Bonus 2 points 12/1 or better, bonus 1 point 6/1 or better, stop competitors just picking odds/on favs every week!
Just a thought, sort the chaff from the wheat.

Not bad going so far Grant (test run).
3rd, unp, 2nd, 2nd & 1st....after 5 races giving you 25 points so far.
