You get the 'Average score' Sandro...It happened last week with Trent which wasn't a bad outcome considering.
Maybe we could have a debate on 'Late Scratching' next week as it's only early days.
It's Saturday night & I'm on the turps so not a good time now....Buurrrppp ;-)

I may as well not tip each week.
I'd be doing a lot better.......
I agree with late scratchings getting the average score, but not those that don't put their selections in.

With you there on that one Tony. You do the right thing and pick R6 B1 tote and get back 4.20. or just dont put your tips in and get. 6.20 and the way I am going I may as well not put a tip in BUT that is not in the right spirit I think. BUT I am not running it and Steve is doing a real good. just my opinion thats all it is.

In my case Peter my selection was unplaced so I got zero. Others that didn't put their selections in got 6.20. How does that make sense?
Those that don't put their selections in should get -1.00, not be rewarded for their neglect.

I am with no tip no points there were 2 guys that put their tips in what 3 or 4 days prior to the meeting I go along with the late scr but not being awarded an average for not making a selection before closing time

I think if you bothered to put your tips in and there is a late scratching I believe that your tip should be replaced by the favourite for that race.
My reasoning is because the scratching was through no fault of your own and you are not afforded a new tip because of the closing time of the competition
Therefore, by right, you have been denied a chance to pick the winner and therefore being unfairly penalized.
It's only right you should be given a replacement with a decent winning chance, usually the tote or fixed odds favourite
Late scratching's don't happen that often and therefore its not hard to manage
Those that don't put their tips in should not get the average score either. That's a cop out in my opinion and giving them too much of a benefit
They should get the lowest score above zero for that week
Anyway, that is my 20c worth

I agree Sandro, most comps place you on the favorite, if there's a late scratching, as far as the missed bets, and the allocation of average scores, I would gladly forfeit mine that was awarded two weeks ago, as the fault lies with you, if you don't bet. Still I admire Steven for his efforts and running the show, maybe he just wants everybody to have a chance.

Oh for sure Ron, Steve has done a terrific job in getting it up and running and simplifying the recording of points etc, it just needs a bit of tweaking before we get too far into the competition

Thanks everyone. That's correct. The comp just needs a little bit of tweaking to perfect any concerns. Let's put some to the sword & make them official. Could we please have a show of hands on the following.
If there's a late scratching, I'll give the PUNTERS 2 choices since we're now living in the 21 century & have everything at our fingertips.
Choice 1. Should a "Late Scratching occur" regarding you selection, that member will have the opportunity to "Re-Enter" a new choice...PROVIDED (a). Your original selection has not raced & (b). Your new selection has been officially lodged "5 MINUTES" before the newly selected race (if required) is about to start (Yes you can choose a different race provided it to has not been conducted).
Choice 2. If the option above has not been exercised, the individual involved will be automatically awarded the "Favourite" of that race. The "Favourite" is clearly stated on the TAB.com.au site under - "Substitute", under the race of interest ---> EXTERNAL LINK
Regarding the "Forget to place your tip" rule.... I can understand why people are getting a bit raffled for reasons already expressed, so I'm more than happy to edit this rule (as I've already suggested before).
As stated previously by myself, I wanted this rule implemented due to the fact people from previously run competitions had lost interest, due to receiving no points after failing to lodge their TIPS on time. Lets face it, we're not perfect & mistakes happen so I wanted to created a 2nd second option rather than lose that participant(s) from the competition for a couple of minors. I believe there's merit in this concept.
Anyway...Could you all decide which "1" of the following 2 choices, would be more acceptable.
1. LIMIT the "2nd Chance Forget" rule [Average Score for that week awarded] to just 2 for each player through out the year. Or 2. Limit the "2nd Change Forget" rule [Award the lowest score above zero for that week] to just 4 for each player through out the year (Results from the first 3 weeks have all resulted in 3 points being awarded).
