Ticabond was an extremely hard chaser, with terrific conformation - 36Kg of muscle, and a tremendous racers temperament, placid and traquil in the kennel, totally "switched on" at the track. Upon closer inspection his bloodlines carry some of the most potent in Australia - Brett Lee, Thai Magic, Black Shiraz, Top Show Belle - Group producer and litter sister to No Intent, and these are only two back in his pedigree. He ran very fast times on both one and two turn tracks as evidenced under the Performance banner, and was the former Grafton 480m record holder running a scorching 27.02 (new recorder 27.01) He raced at Albion Park on 9/10/08 and won running 30.00, he than ran 29.86 at Wentworth Park in a stewards trial on 13/10/2008 (First look at track) and then ran in the Vic Peters Heats on 16/10/08 running 3rd in 29.96. Unfortunately these three hard runs plus a ten hour trip up north, gave Ticabond a severe dose of acidosis. With the help of Jason Mackay, Ticabond returned to the track and was just hitting the peak of his career (qualified for the NSW Final of the National Sprint Championship, but had to be scratched), when he dropped a back muscle, and had to be retired due to this injury.
