Nicken Shaw entered as an unraced pup in prestigious 10,000 Lee Strand 550 Tralee, wins 2nd round by 9l in a blistering 29.79 (TR29.62), Wins 1/4 final by 15 lengths after moderate break, favourite to win out stake until struck down by virus which nearly cost him his life before semi final. Not only did he return to track but made final of Irish St Leger Limerick 2010 beating some top class dogs along the way. missed break in final and found trouble. Favourite to win final of Killeacle/Dowling Memorial 570 Tralee after 2 impressive wins clocking fastest time of entire stake, beating eventual winner in 2nd round by 3 1/2l, had to be withdrawn from final due to coughing. Won on his 2nd trip to Shelbourne Park winning Open 550 on a slow track in 30.26 (Irish Derby winner Razldazl George won same night with clear run in 30.13) unfortunately injured preparing for 2011 English Derby, Wimbledon.
