About the KennelStud DogsBroodsBreeding Successes

Eshwary kennels are situated in Bessbrook Co Armagh, we operate a small but successful kennel. Our first success was the breeding of Shauns Dilemma to Newry Hill of which came Divernagh, Ballyshannon May, Cotters Bridge, and of course that dog Hilltown the dog that has done it all won the derby and champion stakes and has sired so many amazing greyhounds. Then the following year Shauns Dilemma had 6 off spring standing on the Wednesday morning of the 1998 National Coursing Meeting. Hilltown Beat his litter brother Divernagh in the final of the champion stakes. Jades Dilemma ran up the oaks, McShanes Road and Qverseas Queen reached the Quater finals and Brookview Hobo reached the last four of the derby. What an amazing first 2 litters. The following year Brookview Lass made the last 8 of the oaks this daughter of Ten Of Us- Shauns Dilemma was that year the only one of her litter to qualify for the finals. Next to come were Rigoletto the Irish Cup runner up and Duke of Hearts the derby semi-finalist and Toy Minella won the kitty butler stakes. Eshwary Girl who reached the quater finals of the oaks only to be beat by her litter sister Eshwary Smokey who went on to run up the oaks only to be award the winners prise as Ballymac View tested positive.

Then Ashmore View was perchased along with his litter sister Ashmore Lady for the Boyle/Anderson partnership. And what a purchase it was Ashmore View won his trial stake second time out in Clonmel and Kilshehan and was latter favourite for the derby at 20-1. Then Ashmore Lady won her trial stake in Abbeyfeale later to be knocked out of the derby and oaks in the first round respectfully. View was then entered as a pup to run in the Irish Cup in Ballybegan Park Tralee were he lost in a trilling semi to eventually winner Tooned Up. After beating Champion Stakes Winner Multibet and Irish Cup Winner Court House in the previous rounds. Along summer of rest was well deserved and Ashmore was back in training. First up was the 2000 Knockgrafton cup which he easily won the he won the 6000 Kingdom cup and the 63000 JP McManus Irish Cup where he convincingly won each round by daylight margins. An amazing dog with wonderful memories.

Eshwary Ando Derby Runner-up

There was silence in the air as slipper Thomas Murphy moved out to release these worthy finalists behind a racing hare. Suddenly the mighty roar from those who backed Bexhill Eoin was deafening as the Northern trained brindle showed in front. Eshwary Ando was breathing down his neck, as both dogs gave their best effort to win. The hare moved off the line giving Bexhill Eoin a slight advantage. Eshwary Ando was at a disadvantage as he tried to cover the extra yardage but Bexhill Eoin in full flight shifted his game with (3L) to spare

Ashmore View plunders another big prize for North

By Tom Higgins
ASHMORE VIEW became the second northern dog to plunder a big southern prize this month when taking the J P McManus Irish Cup at Limerick Racecourse yesterday.Ashmore View was the even money favourite to win out overnight and in his quarter-final he got the better of Marshals Music by two lengths, having a 3-1 majority when the hare went home.

He then faced Callura Hill, who surprised Pals Magic in the quarter-final and, after being level early on, pulled clear to have a length in hand at the turn.

At the bottom of he draw Crafty Pedro put out the fancied Patterdale Romeo, who was off-line in the run up, and when he got back on line it was too late as he failed by a length to get up. The Galway owned brindle was expected to make his exit in the semi-final when he met Kyle Tiger but he came from behind to take the opening turn by three lengths.

In the final Ashmore View took control from slips and stretched away to have five lengths in hand at the turn.

Ashmore View is owned by Gary Anderson and Stephen Boyle from Bessbrook, Co. Down and trained by Dan Brassil while the runner-up is owned by Brian and Shane Divillys of Claregalway.

Eshwary Ando gains revenge in Kingdom Cup
With Murt Murphy

THE Kerry Coursing Club at Ballybeggan Park staged a very successful Kingdom Cup meeting where the long odds favourite for the cup, Bexhill Eoin, was beaten in the final.

Big crowds were the order on both days as punters and coursing diehards enjoyed milder than normal weather.

The coursing was top quality as well with some great buckles and the well-trained hares gave the greyhounds plenty of work with stamina being a telling factor up that steep stretch at Ballybeggan.

The main event saw the same two greyhounds that contested the 2006 Boylesports Derby Final - Bexhill Eoin and Esh-wary Eoin - contest the final again but this around, there was a different result.

Come On The Mac and Muckle Meg had to be withdrawn before the quarter-finals because of injury and this gave Dingle Forever and Bexhill Eoin byes to the semi-finals.

This was thought by many to have handed the Kingdom Cup to Bexhill Eoin but Eshwary Ando was very impressive in beating Dingle Forever in the semi-final by four lengths but picked up a toe injury and it took some patching up by Dan Brassil to get him right for the final.

The odds-on favourite, Bex-hill Eoin, led all the way from slips to beat Boavista by three lengths in the other semi-final.

And many punters were of the opinion that Brendan Matthews charge would repeat his Derby win of last February, though Bexhill Eoin appeared to be looking a shade weary as he was being collected after the course.

The final saw Eshwary Ando blaze the trail from slips and held the early advantage over Bexhill Eoin who was struggling to find top gear.

He was beginning to close but his effort came too late as Eshwary Ando turned the hare with two lengths to spare, and thus claim victory for his owner Gary Anderson from Bess-brook, Armagh.

The winner was a 6/1 shot on Tuesday morning and it was some training feat by Dan Brassil from Abbeydorney to keep him going through this grueling event but he proved a most impressive winner.

Eshwary Ando (Ashmore View/Eshwary Girl), owned in Bessbrook, Co Armagh by Gary Anderson, captured a very competitive Kingdom Cup (winners prize 6,000) by turning the tables on his 2006 Boyle Sports Derby conqueror Bexhill Eoin (Multibet/Eoin Og) at Ballybeggan Park, Tralee last week. Trained in Abbeydorney by Dan Brassil Ando, a 6/1 long odds shot was a most impressive winner of one of the best All-Age Cups run at this venue.
The Derby winner Bexhill Eoin owned in partnership by Glin pals Conor Sheehan, John Barrett and trainer Brendan Matthews from Newry started the even money favourite and he advanced to the quarter finals by disposing of Doorman (6L) and Maslaplana (3L). Eshwary Ando accounted for Velocity Bill (LL) and Lisahane Hawk (6L) to reach the last eight. On Wednesday morning both Come On The Mac and Muckle Meg were withdrawn giving Dingle Forever and Bexhill Eoin a free run to the semi-finals. Eshwary Ando had 3 lengths on Hard Grinder and Boa Vista always led by three against Fuel The Passion. Eshwary Ando (2/1) powered up to lead by 4 lengths against Dingle Forever (6/1). Bexhill Eoin (1/2) led by three when paired with Boa Vista (3/1) but the 33 second course saw the northern trained brindle coming off the stretch very distressed. The long odds layers made Ando a 6/4 chance to win in first All-Age Cup and no betting chalked up for Eoin. Released behind a racing hare in the final, Eshwary Ando was full of running and led early as Bexhill Eoin struggled to stay with the pace. There was no catching the Dan Brassil trained dog as he shifted his game with daylight between these two gallant coursing breds.
