In 1996 we aquired our foundation bitch WESTMEAD DISC(Murlens Abbey-Westmead Chloe) from our friend Nick Savva. Bred by a Greyhound of the year out of a sister to the great PHANTOM FLASH, DISC had very decent 29.01(A3) winning form around 475m Walthamstow(TR 28.49 WESTMEAD CHICK) and came from a good grade litter incl. open racers W.MARIO and W.NIPPON. DISCs litter sisters W.KATE and W.KAREN were exported for breeding purposes to Australia and USA.
DISC ran in top company in Soissons/FR, Csepel/HU and Geldrop/NL. Her greatest success was a 5L victory over Leeview Lady in the 1997 European Championship over 480m. Previously DISC had won the European Derby Consolation.

DISC was first mated to our own open racer ENYAS MERLIN(Murlens Slippy-Bealady Blond), a litter brother to Irish top open class stayer SUMMERHILL SWIFT(TR Clonmel&Waterford). Merlin had won several finals down here and his fastest times included 16.49 SOI 280m, 28.46 MS 480m and 43.96 GEL 700m. The resulting litter(04.97) included some decent sorts like H.MOSSIE(Danish Champ.32.06 BJE 524m), H.MURPHY(Gilpa Cup), H.MICK(16.87 Geldrop) and H.MYSTERY(3Hearts, Cont.Classics).
All 11 pups were genuine racers.

However the quality of the first litter was easily topped by the Feb.99 bunch by TOMS THE BEST. Star of the 8 was certainly H.FRIGET who showed devastating pace to win either from the front or from the back.
FRIGET notched up 2 European Championships over 4 bends and landed her masterpiece when winning the 2002 GAIN European Derby in Bjerringbro/DK by 8L in a fantastic TR of 31.51 for 524m. Litter sister H.FUNKY wasnt too much behind, becoming European Champion over 520m herself and then crossing the line as winner in the 3Hearts and Dutch Oaks both at Geldrop, both times beating the great Vigorous Carera. FIRST(29.82, 29.89 GEL), FAT TOMBA(18.20 TR BOR/S 320m), FROZEN(Czech Oaks, St.Leger), FREEZER(30.26 GEL) and FINEST(topgrade DK) all made their mark.

A March 01 litter by LENSON BILLY(Slaneyside Hare-B.Flyer) out of English Oaks semifinalist WESTMEAD KEIKO(Staplers Jo-Westmead Chick) included sensational pup H.NEALA who won a European Puppy Derby and the Continental Classics sprint(died later on toxic), H.NARCOTIC(Cont.Classic 525m), H.NIGHTSHADE(Open Sprint Winner), H.NAZIM(EPD finalist) and H.NEO(30.42 GEL at 16mths).

November 2004 FRIGET threw her first litter to LARKHILL JO and in April 2005 FUNKY produced 2 pups to the great BORNA PILOT(Top Honcho-Borna Best), arguably Top Honchos fastest son out of an Irish Oaks winner. Even though we lost the fantastic JOHNJO, both litters include promising youngsters for 2007 - JUNE, JAMICA and PSYCHO have already won races. Newsflash 2007: JAPAN clocks FTOY in Geldrop 16.78, PSYCHO second fastest dog over 490m in 29.87

In 2008 we moved the Kennels to Castlepole near Kells, Co.Meath.
