When Vermillion Greyhounds does have hounds available for placement they will only go to approved homes and we require that all prospective owners fill out a questionnaire as well as overview and fully understand our sales contract. This does not imply that you will not be a good home for one of our dogs but we want to make sure that all who are involved have the necessary information to make an informed decision.

We pride ourselves in the wonderful temperaments that we've reinforced in our lines. They receive the very best of care with lots of exercise, appropriate nutrition and lots of focus on social development. We go on daily walks (trained on and off lead, quite a feat for a greyhound). The pups once fully immunized are taken to new places to meet people and to the dog park for socialization. We even prepare and cook their meals (would be delighted to share the recipe with anyone interested in doing this healthy alternative for their canine companion). We independently open field course and are started in lure coursing with our greyhounds. Our hounds are currently becoming active in showing and we hope to make an impact in the ring with "half-and-half" greyhounds. I believe that the genetic diversity that the NGA greyhounds gene pool has to offer for the breeds improvement is of great value and should not be overlooked. Vermillion has older greyhounds for sale from time to time and also has greyhound puppies for sale on the rare occasion. We are honest with potential homes for our dogs and very selective of the situations we put them in. We will be frank with you and quickly shatter a misconception if things are seen through "rose colored glasses". Raising a greyhound puppy is nothing short of hard work but we are very proud to offer such well mannered companions whether at 12wks or 12 months of age. We work very hard to make the transition as easy and stress free as possible with our knowledge and years of experience. We've been complimented on numerous occasions by sighthound folk how amazing it is to see such well composed greyhound youngsters. Here at Vermillion Greyhound we want the match to be "made in heaven" each and every time.

Vermillion greyhounds come with a contract protecting all involved, a 2 yr health guarantee and our policy that our doors are open for return of the dog. When you acquire a Vermillion greyhound you become a part of our family! Typically when we have an older greyhound for sale and it has been with us since puppyhood and it will be started in basic obedience training and they are encouraged to lure course as well. We independently participate in OFC (Open Field Coursing) and enjoy every moment of it. Coursing is a very demanding sport and requires that the participants be in the very best of physical conditioning to compete. Running a hound that is not prepared can lead to serious injuries and could even result in death. Here at Vermillion we spend a vast majority of time with our hounds making sure they get lots of exercise and have good nutrition.
