Morning

There are a fair number of sennachie litters starting to reach 10 to 12 months with a few older ones most likely already broken in.

Any thoughts on how the Pips are from those with break ins or with the pups being prepared for breaking in.

Cheers

Andrew

Sennachie pups starting to hit the track Select moment winning at Ipswich in 30.29 with some big winning margins 13 & 8 lengths, the other 2 litter mates both having there first start winning at Warragul Paua to Contest, Paua of Silence 7length win in bod 22.46. He seems to be throwing speed + strength a very promising start to Sennachie at stud!

Whats peoples latest thoughts on Sennachie as a sire ?

I have a couple of handy young pups starting thier career winning provincial so far and tnh raising them there temperament was extraordinarliy good not over the top did everything right switch right on ...just perfect pups and now racing well !

I was seriuosly thinking to use him on different ddo brood but got talked out of it for fernado ..which was hard to argue against.

Studmaster like all owners is talking him up and hes getting quite a few winners but still fairly early in his career then along comes jay is jay as a standout running very slick time !

Im surpised on here that his thread is cold and no real comments of late ?

i have bought a Koblenz straw for this ddo bitch ...but im seriusly thinking about backing my original hunch and using sennachie and maybe koblenz later ..

Im not a breeding guru or up on all the stats , and its early days for him ..but interested to hear thoughts especially as the temparement he seems to be throwing is first class as well ?

He is sitting on 20% on these figures. Having watched these stats over the last few decades I've noticed the following. The greats start off their careers at 25-30+%, the good ones 20-25% and the also rans below 20%. Still early days but he is travelling pretty good on that criteria.

This isn't being a FB hater or anything, but FB has never been 25% any time in his stud career

I try not to judge a sire until their 2nd full season at stud. Can fluke a good pup or get unlucky with a dud litter early on otherwise

You are very wrong. Early in his career he was 29-30%. I don't keep records but I recall Brett Lee was into the 30+% range. As a more recent example Aston Dee Bee was around 27-28% early on.

Like I said I've been watching the Recorder Stats for decades and it's a great barometer for future sire success.

Without stating the obvious, Feral Franky is a future top sire using this criteria.

Obviously it'll level out for both once a bigger portion of dogs start racing and both going very good, but Good Odds Harada siring at a better strike rate than Feral Franky this year

Just my observation
I see many races with Fernando Bale pups racing against each other, they cant all finish first place unless dead heats occur. Therefore there is a counter negative in percentages
due to so many FB dogs V FB dogs in same race. Fernando Bale percentages are awesome IMO
Pleased to see Sennachie offspring off to a good start

That makes sense. Does give him a better chance of getting the winner but also gives him 3 that didn't win when he has half the field

That link took me to Sennachie sorry.

I'm talking about early in their stud careers. The best sires are over the 25% mark and the greatest closer to 30%.
