Have had a couple of Fernandos, have a Redeemer bitch, can't believe how similar the trait's and foibles are. Are others the same?

This bloke can produce a fast pup, but my goodness he gets his fair share on half pied chasers. I've been watching a bit of racing lately and every time I see a nonnie I check the breeding, fair dinkum this bloke pops up way more than he should. They aren't fighters or aggressive just not geniune.

I actually thought My Redeemer was one of Fernando Bales more genuine sons and probably produced more genuine dogs than his dad
But this day and age unfortunately every sire gets their share of nonnies. I could name a fair few Barcia bale sons that don't produce the most genuine pups and Barcia bale is known for chase

I haven't seen one sire that doesn't have non chasers in their progeny
But are they really all to blame for this
Breeding with non chasing bitches is a bigger problem
At least you know that virtually all the sires that go to stud had form in top class races or ran super fast times , not many sires go to stud with a string of tickets behind them

I think he is one of the best Fernando options in the market place
The other one making a mark is Sennachie, he had a lot of smart pups and mainly strong types as well

No not one side is all to blame for this ! Its a lot of things and ultimately both sides could be at fault !
You say a sire hasnt got a bunch of tickets when they go to stud , fair enough , but does that excuse or give the dog a clean honest bill of health in all categories?
Seen plenty of trainers who have wrap sheets as long as your arm in control of many of these dogs your talking about .
Be a fool to think your getting what you see for 30 sec on a race track ! Breeding exposes all faults from both sides ! When you see a pattern or trait occurring across the whole state , not everyone or every brood can be blamed is my point .
It all comes out in the wash , plenty of low sires who somehow won GRP Sandro

You could be right, but I just go with what I know
If they have a trail of tickets they won;t get any bitches, its pretty simple, thats pretty obvious
Your own eyes are your best judge, I wouldn't use a sire that I thought wasn't trying in his races, same as I wouldn't use a bitch for stud that I thought was a non-chaser
I am not having a go at you, but I am not going to sit here and second guess which trainers you think touch up their stud dogs. If you believe that is an issue then its a free country.
I just know that some stud dogs pass on their positive traits in their genes and some can't. Some actually pass on negative traits that could be dominant back in their gene pool.
Just like some top class bitches can hardly throw a winner, even if they go to Fernando and Barcia
That's the mystery of genetics
Back to topic, I think My Redeemer was a great race dog and was a phenomenal trier
If Paul thinks that some are half pied then he should look at some of the females on the other side , it will usually tell the story

Sadly I think most people would agree with that

Could be worse I suppose. Like going to Koblenz. Tongue firmly in cheek.

Yeah I'll cop that one. I might be a little bit biased ; )
I like Melbourne Cup winners like Koblenz, My Redeemer, Aston Dee Bee, Ando's Mac, Hard Style Rico etc. because they were blood tested when they won

I thought all Group winners and placegetters got tested. We had a few over the years and I'm sure they all got swabbed.

Urine tests, Victoria only place that does hair and blood. And even then they only really do it on Melbourne cup and Australia cup night as a rule
